Nestled comfortably between ferns, the bright green chrysalis pulsed gently with the life within. Small hooves nudging gently at inner shell of the gem as green eyes flickered open, watching silently as light danced across green tinted fur.
Some small part of her mind said to wait, that her home was safe, warm, and the outside world might be dangerous. But another part, or, well, the rest of her mind, simply ignored it, running wild with thoughts of running wildly through the underbrush. Excited, her hooves kicked harder at the shell of the chrysalis, wondering, would it be able to break through? Would she be free?
'Hold on, you can wait just a few minutes longer,' her mind chided, soothing her rapid breaths into a natural, slow rhythm. She could wait, she could be patient....ish.
