dated before the war, just before she leaves to find that Vazi is still alive and rallying his followers.
Quietly she lay tucked away into her den. Things had been quiet for at least a cycle. Yet, it was not a comfortable silence. Something stirred in places unknown. Her gut twisted at each passing day as if instincts were telling her something was coming. Pheo was fast asleep curled up into her side. If the poor thing wasn't off grazing for food he was clinging to her, eager to do anything that she may request. Perhaps that was only because she had bonded to him when he was only but a baby. Now, the dragonbat was fully grown and nearly a third of her size with an incredible wingspan. He was certainly a creature to admire. Unlike his species, Pheo had yet to show any aggression save for the time he thought she was going to eat him. A smile curled her features as she pondered over the first time she had seen Pheo, but soon her thoughts waned as her gaze drifted towards the uncovered stone that was tucked into the corner of her den. The stone that Totum had given her. No, had entrusted her with. She was to care for the creature that would soon be born from the stibnite. She hadn't put her life essence into it just yet, knowing that things had grown hectic and unsafe for a child to begin roaming. Especially a child that would belong to her. If Hasira had ever found out about it Arkrael had only gruesome ideas of what he would try to do to the poor thing. Alas, all was quiet now. Even if it was an eerie silence. Perhaps now she could begin what Totum had instructed her to do. Arkrael shifted in her position, lifted her head up to peer down at the stone with interest. She could never touch the stone. Totums words of poison filling her mind. It left her wary, unsure of what exactly this stone was made of. Yet, did that mean that when the young gembound emerged from the chrysalis it was sure to create once she breathed life into it that she would not be able to touch them either? It left a sudden, questioning ache in her chest. How would she show it affection if she could not touch it? Ears pinned back as her thoughts continued down the path of uncertainty. It wasn't long before she had to shake herself free from her thoughts and she settled a firm gaze upon the stone. Regardless of what may come to hand. Arkrael would create this creature Totum had given her. She would do as Totum instructed and would raise the child as her own. She would love it, raise it as best she could. The child would be part of her. A deep breath escaped the she-wolf as she lowered her head and reached her nose just a tad closer to the stibnite and attempted to summon a spell she had never used before. "speech" 'PheoThoughts' |
