Galaxy watched the lake water whiz past, the shallow grey waters rushing past her. She could hear the distant groaning of the wind. Perhaps her eagerness and young heart allowed her to sense such things. Besides, she was only one cycle old. Looking upon the grey lake once more, she remembered she had only ever seen blue lakes in her whole short life. The grey water was sparkling with life and light. Galaxy's gemstone, an amethyst, was also shining in the moonlight.
'I feel really strange around it,' Galaxy whispered, letting the peculiar feeling pulse through her. Grey water. her gem sparkling, strange feelings...
What was special about this lake?
Nyekundu had been exploring this colorful cave since they hatched. After some time of walking on rather small, wobbly legs, they came across a beautiful lake. The water was gray, a rather unusual color for a lake. But Nyekundu thought it was beautiful. They looked at it some more, until they saw another also looking at it. They walked over, partially trying to hold a sense of elegance. But at such a young age, doing so did not come naturally. They weren't even aware that they were trying.
"Hello," Nyekundu greeted the other.

Galaxy looked up in surprise at the figure beside her. Who was this?
'Hi,' the young wolf greeted with a curt nod, 'Who are you? My name is Galaxy, I gave myself that name when really little. When I was just born. You are looking at the lake too? Isn't it strange? Do you feel anything when it rushes past, or is that just me?'
@Nyekundu
"My name is," the flamingo paused. "Nyekundu." They had never really thought of a name for themselves until now. Nyekundu just seemed like a good name for them. "I think it's beautiful. Certainly an interesting color. Not something one might expect as the color of water. At least, I don't think it is," they added. They stared at the water a bit more. They thought for a bit. They did feel a bit weird, almost a tingling sort of feeling. "Yes, I do. Interesting."

Galaxy looked at Nyekundu in interest. Her eyes softened at the flamingo and she gave a tiny yap. 'So it's not just me about this weird water.' She stared at the water, her gaze flickering from that to Nyekundu. 'I guess that it's just mystical. We'll never know.'
"I guess so," Nyekundu murmured as they continued to look at the water. It was quite fascinating to see the ripples in the gray water, and they felt as if they could look at it for a long time.
