ORIGIN

Walking slowly into the trees, pushing in deeper. It was quite for a few moments, only hearing the snapping of twigs and ferns giving past her weight . . . then there was the screaming. It started up again, louder this time. Cutting through the leaves and then it stopped. At first she hesitated, but the call from her love pulled her closer. Did Gada need her help? It didn't take her to find the scene and just in time.

Before her was the same white doe . . but different, held held by the trunk of Gadanai; before being let go and disappearing into a cloud of darkness. What . . . what is going on . . ? Eyes grew wide at the sight before her, turning her head to face the elephant. Jasmine could feel the hate radiating off of her love, and it scared her. Who was that doe? But something in her told her to stop Gada before more happened. Rushing to stand in front of Gada, "Please . . Gada, tell me what is going on . . "

Tears were beginning to well up, heart racing as she was shaking. The screaming from the stranger still rang in her head. Jasmine didn't know what to think now, the mix of fear and satisfaction tossed inside her mind from both Gada and herself. She wasn't sure what she was suppose to be feeling.

Ever since she left, he had been looking for her. Nothing else mattered as much as finding her did.

He had already lost her once. This he knew, and was made even more painfully aware of when she told him how all of his failures had broken her. He had vowed never to lose her again, even if she relented against him. She could refuse him all she wanted, but he would save her. He would protect her. And as much as his heart yearned for her, she could even stop loving him, and he would still do anything to rescue her from the darkness.

His slow, limping pace had brought him to Eridanus. There was nothing that suggested she was here other than an idle mention of something seeing the white doe wander through the tunnel connecting Eridanus and Pisces with the core. It was little more than a hunch, but he followed it; maybe, just maybe, he would be able to find her flitting through the trees like a faerie. He hadn't known anything was happening, hadn't suspected a thing, until the commotion began. Screaming. It was bloodcurdling, and so carnal that it had turned his blood to ice, and he knew her voice. He'd know it anywhere. So he ran, well - as much as his twisted leg would allow him to. He ran towards the voice, wheezing and gritting his teeth against the discomfort of his leg, reaching out to search for her.

And suddenly, he had vaulted into the darkness, a cloud of shade that seemed to poison the trees and suffocate him - a brand of darkness that he was far too familiar with. "Clover?" He stopped, called out, searching the shade for her magic. He felt her, a little ways off... no. No, that wasn't her. There were two of them, nearby. He was still in the dark, wide eyes fearful, pinning on the two creatures. Suddenly, she surged off to the side, and he snapped his gaze towards her instead. He ran blindly to her. He didn't know what had happened, only that she had screamed.

She couldn't think, everything was blank, but she heard Jasmine appear and talk to her monster of a lover and ask her pitifully what was wrong, and she snarled in an animalistic way in response to hearing it. Fucking bitch caught her in the act, how stupid could she be?!

The darkness still covered her and the surrounding area, and the shadows caressed her and petted her fur as she stumbled away on three legs, her mouth whining pathetically at every step that made her broken leg twitch. The panic helped because everything was just getting away rather than minding the pain.

And then she heard the elephant give chase after her and her heart was in her throat again and she made a sound of fear again, afraid of the end, the painful fatality that waited behind her.

How does it feel, Clover said cynically in their head, her voice dripping with hatred.You've done this to others, and now you're getting your retribution. Now someone as sick and twisted as you is trying to hurt you as much as possible before killing you. How does it feel?

Fuck off! Bella replied, her teeth bared. I'm trying to keep us both alive!

That's just it. I don't care. Guess whose fault that is?

Clover made their broken leg touch the ground, made it stretch and straighten out and Bella screamed again, desperate and afraid, and she pushed through it and pushed Clover away to continue her awkward stumbling, tears running down her face.

Her magic flared again, and an illusion sparked to life, the same scared version of Clover that appeared from the bushes to speak to Jasmine once Gada had left. The illusion appeared out of breath and scared out of her mind, and said, "Please! You have to stop her! My friend didn't do anything, she's going after her to kill her for no reason! Gada has killed before because she likes to, and she'll do it again if you don't do anything!"

And when she finished the spell and let it finish, a word spoke through the fire and the fear and pierced through it like a spear thrown straight through it, and both Clover and Belladonna turned towards the sound.

"Bartos-?" Clover said, her breath caught in her throat. No- he couldn't be here, he was back at home where she had left him, he couldn't - "Bartos, y-you can't be here!" She called out into the dark. "She's going to kill me, you have to run!"

Would there be a fatality this day? Standing there, the giraffe felt lost in the confusion and the emotion that filled the air. Moving to stand closer to Gada, hearing their words but something just wasn't clicking inside. It felt empty, no it felt like something wasn't what it was suppose to be. Jasmine was about to lean into the touch but it was to late and her protector was darting back into the green after the vanishing white doe.

That was til the doe appeared before her, but something was different. No, this was the doe that spoke to her in the cave. Before she could question how they were able to vanish into thin air, she began to plead with the giraffe. "Please! You have to stop her! My friend didn't do anything, she's going after her to kill her for no reason! Gada has killed before because she likes to, and she'll do it again if you don't do anything!" Ears pinned back, She likes too?

Somehow that didn't surprise the tall female; in the back of her mind she knew Gadanai had something dark about her. The elephant did inform Jas that they would do things she would not like nor understand. Gadanai! Thinking hard now, trying to call out to her love. She ran after the other, a rampaged path was easy to follow. Her long legs made it easy to keep up, Gada just in sight now. For some reason, she knew this whole time something was different about her love but didn't want to focus on it in fearing it might scare her; but it did scare Jasmine and she had to face it.

"Gadanai!" Calling out loud now, soon coming up behind and hoping to slow the elephant down. The spotted female was so innocent to the evils of this world but she could still see to much good in her dearest. Even if that good was only so small compared. "Please!" Jasmine's face was still wet from her tears, glancing around to make sure she had the grey females full attention. "You have protected me, see. They are gone now . . and . . " Catching her breath, "And you did it. They won't come back, you showed them. Remember, your a warrior and my protector." Pleading with her, not wanting to loose the only one she cared about to . . madness.

Clover opened her mouth to speak to Bartos again, to spur him to leave, to be anywhere but here - but then she turned her head, hearing the monster chasing her emerge into Belladonna's darkness after her. She barely had enough time to breathe, let alone scream, before all the wind was completely knocked out of her and everything went flying in the void. Time utterly stopped for just a second till she hit something hard that cracked because of her impact, and the instant after she hit the tree, sounds slid away for a moment.

Light filtered back to her vision, and unbeknownst to her, the spell fell away the moment she lost consciousness for just a few seconds. She was laying on the ground over the tree roots, apparently, and anyone looking at her would see her broken leg splayed out at an angle that screamed wrong. Everything was blurry and sounds were muffled and she, for some reason, couldn't move. Her body was just....numb. She didn't care, didn't know anything, couldn't focus on anything, like she was swimming in intoxication up to her ears. The light blacked out again.

And when they came back a tiny while later, things were a little clearer because this time, thoughts filtered to the surface, thoughts like she was going to be killed soon and that someone...someone she loved was here, someone she needed to protect, but who it was was taken away because everything just plain hurt too much. She made a sound from her body telling her it was protesting all this abuse, but what caused it escaped her. Clover opened her eyes, squinting at the blurry shapes in front of her, something grey and big that inspired a bolt of fear, something tall and vaguely golden-orange, and something small and brown-ish, all of this amidst a sea of green.

"Well....this....hurts..."
