Kin Kin stood at the entrance to Orion, staring out at the tunnel ahead of her. Jagged, icy, and cold, it chilled the pup right through to the bone and the water that she could see down there as the slope began to decline, was something that she'd never seen before. She wanted to get closer, and yet she was more than slightly scared to. She could hear the sound of dripping and water rushing from further in.
Even if she tried though, it was doubtful she'd ever be able to swim. The cloth at her back would easily drag her down and under.
Even now it trailed out far behind her, almost completely covering her little puppy body as she moved forward, except from her front paws. She peered over a sharp edge down at the water, and although she was afraid, she decided to head down. She took in a deep breath, let it out, and reached out for the ledge below her. Without too much of a problem, she was down a step closer to the water. She could see it glittering brighter, and a gleam of gold caught her attention.
She hopped her way down another ledge, and then she was there, down by the water's edge. She bent first to take a drink, her little tongue flickering, but as she pulled away she noticed her reflection.
Momentarily fearful she froze, only to soon relax. That was her down there! She still couldn't believe that she looked like that. The young one twisted her head slightly, gazing into the water.
She was one of the prettier things in the world; and she could make it even more so.
Thinking deeply, she held her breath and focused, still gazing into the water. It took a while, but eventually her eyes widened, as eventually the water lit up, the light from her own pelt dancing on the water's surface.
