Destiny wasn't sure if she liked this room very much; her already strained vision was blurred, a messy jumble of colours and shapes as she made her way through this wide room. Occasionally, the little one would stop, startled by a skull or pile of bones that would loom out of the darkness before her. And with a quick mumbled apology, the little lady would adjust her flower crown and hurry on, panting breaths heaved out as she struggled to go any faster than a snail's pace.
This was a big room... she'd been exploring it for a while, but it seemed the bones here were the only company she'd find for now. It was better than nothing, Destiny supposed, but she didn't wanna disturb their peaceful rest. That, and they weren't very talkative to begin with... A sigh whistled out of her bill. At least there was water here. The ground had become damp, and soon the platypus felt her flippers splashing into shallows, soon to sink into deeper waters.
As it closed over her head with ripples spreading out over the surface of the pond, Destiny felt a faint headache retreating as the cooling sensation numbed the pain and washed away a small cloud of blood from opalescent spines.
@Fate
This place gave Fate some really bad vibes. She wasn't sure why she travelled out this far out of Orion on her search for treasures but here she was. Every step was careful as she didn't want to disturb the bones of the resting.
So long as they aren't restless... She thought to herself, continuing deeper into the cave.
Crack...
Fate let out a whimper as she stepped into a skull and cracked it partly. Her paw had went through the skulls eye socket and was firmly stuck. The skull was of an odd shape, certainly one she couldn't recognise, though that was not what was important, she wanted it off.
She tried to bang it against the floor but to no avail. "Damn it." She swore, knowing that it would be rather uncomfortable walking with such a thing permanently attached to her.
Fate limped over to a small body of water, being careful to to harm herself on the skull. She decided to take a drink as she thought out her little predicament some more.
@Destiny
Floating motionlessly in the shallow pond for a few moments as she relaxed in the lack of pain, Destiny soon felt the water stirring around her. She stirred, pawing at the water with her flippers as she groggily nuzzled herself awake, shaking her bill and blowing bubbles of air from her nostrils. She pushed her head just above the surface and heard the distant echoes of a voice fading into the air.
"Hmmm?" using her flippers to direct her as she drifted her way to the shore of the pond.
"That's a new word. What d-d-does it mean?" Destiny looked around as her flippers connected with hard stone, and caught sight of a shape nearby. Drifting closer, she saw a larger creature, stooped to drink from the same pond she'd taken refuge. As she saw them, Destiny's bill opened into an enormous smile.
"Hallo! I see ya, I seeya! ...Oh, I was k-kidding by the way, I know what it means. It was a b-bad j-j-joke..." she stopped as though embarrassed for a second, before suddenly bursting out laughing so hard that her flower crown fell over her eyes. The platypus splashed in the water for a bit as she tried to correct the soggy flowers before eventually giving up and trying to look dignified.
The little creature still seemed flustered though, destpite the enormous smile on her face. As she finally lifted her paw and raised the crown so that it was caught by an opal spire, Destiny's eyes were lit up and dancing with rainbows.
@Fate
Fate had found herself in the company of a fluff ball. An adorable talking fluff ball. The fluff ball joked and Fate giggled a little in response. The fluff ball was barely a fraction of her own size. They wore a small flower crown that lay on top of their gem.
"It wasn't all that bad." She responded, shifting her glances from the fluff ball to the skull trapped on her paw.
"As you can see, I'm a little bit stuck..." Fate spoke as an idea hit her, perhaps she could use a spell to remove it.
With the spell in mind she focused her energy into the skull and trying to get it to move.
All of a sudden whispers filled her head, voices that she didn't recognise. Fate instantly realised her error. She had cast the wrong spell.
Her eyes widened as the whispers drowned out the peaceful ambience of the cave. It was awful. It was haunting and she hated it. She wanted nothing more but for it to stop.
Fate hoped it wouldn't last much longer. "Help?" She winced out quietly towards the fluff ball. Hoping for a little bit of comfort in this moment of grave discomfort.
@destiny
Destiny blinked, watching the stranger from her place in the water, her bill peeking just above the ripples. Her vision was blurred, but she could see a white smudge where one of their paws should have been, supposedly. The little platypus paddled closer and pulled herself up onto the side. With a little shake, she shed droplets from her velvety fur like a duck's feathers shed water.
"If ya say so!" she warbled, peering up towards the other's face, or where she assumed it was anyway.
"Wow... you're so... b-b-big!" the little creature seemed awed by the mere presence of the other one but at their words, Destiny nosed at their feet and found that they were indeed stuck.
"Oh! That's a skull! Are you okay? Are they okay?" she fussed, patting at the skull with her bill for a moment.
"I can help, I'll help!"
Despite this, Destiny wasn't sure what to do without hurting her new friend or the skull. She noticed that they'd fallen silent and looked up, before hearing a strained whisper. Her rainbow eyes opened up wide.
"I-I-I'm here! I'll be there!" she stammered, putting her entire weight (which admittedly wasn't much) on the skull, in an effort to get it off.
"S-sorry if you like 'er, skull b-b-but... we're gonna find you a nicer p-place than a 'lil lady's foot!"
