Sneaking away from home, once again, the tiny liogoose made her way stealthily towards Eridanus. She didn't know how she knew the name of this place but she did, it stuck out to her and promised tall trees and a variety of forest creatures. The kid in her was excited beyond all reason while the part of her that she didn't understand... well... it was impatient and wanting to get at something but she had no idea what. There was just a vague feeling of needing to find something. How would she find it though if she didn't even know what it was?

The little creature made her way forward on rear legs, forepaws hung to the front of her while she looked around at the towering plants overhead. This place was certainly amazing! Cetus was full of plants as well but they were all spindly and creepy-looking compared to these majestic things. How on earth would she find anything here? The thought of asking her mother was briefly in her head but she dismissed it. The cat was so dismissive of any outside things that she didn't even want to bother with it. She'd solve this conundrum on her own.

If only her paws weren't getting so sore.

The little mongoose stopped to recline against a large mushroom with her arms draw up behind her head and her footpaws kicked out in front of her. She looked quite comfortable resting there... though she posed a very helpless target if anyone nearby had ill-intentions.

i don't wanna sit still and look pretty!

Talion relished the feel of the air running through his wing feathers as he glided through Eridanus. He'd learned that he could fly only a short time ago, and yet, he seemed to be a natural at it. As he approached a tree, he gently leaned to one side, giving him plenty of time and space to avoid it. In the air, he rarely second guessed himself, instead relying completely on instinct. Why he couldn't do that on the ground, or with other Gembounds, he didn't know. For some reason, he didn't trust himself as much on his legs as he did with his wings. It was a strange feeling, and one that off put him so much, it started to mess with his flying. Distracted with his thoughts, even if only for a moment, the owl forgot to pay attention where he was going. When he looked up, he was headed straight for a mushroom.

Thankfully, the owl's instincts kicked back in, and he dove hard to the right, swooping down in an arc toward the ground. He pulled pulled up suddenly, guided himself in a landing right beside the mushroom he had nearly hit. It wasn't until after he landed, and had checked himself over, that he realized someone else was here. Talion's large, inky orbs fixed on the small, russet colored creature that was propped on the stem of the giant mushroom as soon as his head swiveled her way. For what seemed like an eternity, silence stretched between them. It lasted so long in fact, that he finally realized she didn't know he was here. With that realization came so many possibilities, and yet, he took up the simplest, most direct one.

"What are you doing?" The Gemling demanded, as if he had a right to know. He made sure to stare at the other Gembound to show he meant business too.

There she was, reclining and resting herself when all of a sudden she heard something speak off to her right. The little liogoose would have been lying if she'd said that she hadn't been a teeny bit startled by the sudden noise but it only showed with a sudden flick of her tail. Something could be trying to eat her but she doubted the predator would have spoken if it was intent on her flesh so she played it off by casually opening one eye and looking at the avian with the silver lens.

A grin appeared on her face, not particularly a friendly one but one of those grins you gave when you wanted to irritate someone... one of those shit-eating grins. Why shouldn't she want to irritate him? Well, besides the obvious that he was larger and he could eat but the gemling wasn't thinking about that. Oh no, she was thinking about his tone and how nice it would be to irritate him. "What's it look like, Feathers?" The tiny creature snorted before closing her eye back and looking for all the world like she was ignoring him but she wasn't. Those sensitive ears were trained on the owl in case he tried to come in closer or peck at her or something. "Why not take a load off? Calm down, rest y'self." Said in an easy carefree tone that probably pissed him off more.

The poor bumblebug had no chance of escape once Riff's beak closed down on it. She quickly gulped it down and scanned the canopy for any more insects crawling around. The fledgling hopped from branch to branch pecking at any worm that dared showed itself. Then, a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks. Could it be?

She leaped over to a lower perch and peered through an opening behind the veil of leaves. It was Serendipity relaxing a mushroom and talking to another Gembound. Not the monkey, but another avian, like her. Irriation bubble up within her has she remember how the liogoose cost her that seed, the one she tried to "borrow" from that marmoset.

Snitch.

Riffi was going to show her what she thought of snitches. The bird flipped around and stuck her back end over the opening. She had to aim this just right if she wanted maximum revenge. Riffi lifted up her tail feathers and threw all decency out the cavern as she fired a warm, goopy mess of bird poop at Serendipity.

The almost complete lack of response that Talion got from the tiny mammal really irritated him. Who does she think she is? He wondered silently while straightening up so that he loomed as much as he could over the stranger. She was a few hops away, well out of danger from his inexperienced talons, but he still wanted to appear intimidating. The act of bravo worked as well as his demands did. Although, after a moment, she finally deigned with him a response, and even being new at conversing, he could tell she was mocking him. Plus, to call him by the thing he was cloaked in was just...degrading. It didn't feel right, he didn't like, and it was really, really irritating! As was the fact that the female Gembound still had not moved, and even went so far as to suggest he should relax with her.

"I don't think I could rest or 'take a load off' anywhere close to you," he spat out before snapping his beak shut in evident rage. For what seemed like a short eternity, the owl stared off to the side, his shoulders slowly rising so that he sat hunched. It was taking every ounce of control he had not to let loose on the little bag of fur, not that he knew what he'd do if he did. Something held him back though, fate perhaps, since the moment he looked back at the irritating little hybrid was the moment she was pooped on.

Although the owl's dropping were very different than this goopy, runny stuff, he still knew exactly what it was from having it seen it all over Eridanus. And the smell followed the sight quickly enough. A grin spread across Talion's face as he looked from the bomb, up to the mastermind that had dropped it. The small Gembound was hard to see from this far away, but not impossible. Unable to hold in his laughter any longer, the youth let it bellow out of him in a fit. He even doubled over from laughing so hard, but as soon as he calmed down, one glance at the his tormentor's face sent him into another fit.

Oh boy, she was getting right up under his skin, wasn't she? The crafty little liogoose sniggered to herself as she still lay reclined in a relaxing position. "Pity. It's a real nice spot, y'know." She grinned, tiny little fangs showing in an evident show of merriment at the owl's anger. Was it wise to rile him up that way? Probably not but she didn't give not one care.

Not until she felt something wet plot right onto her stomach. The tiny critter leaped up, shocked at what could have hit her.... Until the sight and scent made her gag. Immediately she looked up to find the source and saw what looked to be some sort of bird. Was... Was that the same one from before? Riffi? Who'd laughed at her when she hit her head? That absolute bastard! The tiny liogoose let out a loud hiss before looking around for a rock and after finding one, launched it at the opening where she was sure she saw the bird's tail feathers. "You lil' asshole!" Wouldn't her mother be so proud of that language...

Riffi couldn't help but snicker when she saw that she had hit her mark. Celebration was going to have to wait, however. Before she could react, she felt the sting of a rock hitting her tail. She squawked in surprise, losing a few feathers as she flailed her wings to keep balance. A blue tail feather gracefully floated down to the two Gembounds and landed softly on the ground. Riffi spread her tail and wings to make sure she hadn't lost enough of her flight feathers. The little "crest" on her head goofily puffed up as she eyed the rock throwing liogoose. She would have been pissed, if Serendipity hadn't called her something fitting. A burst of laughter escaped from the little blue jay. "Asshole!" She snorted. "That's a good one! You're pretty clever!"

She dove through the opening and flapped down towards Serendipity, landing on a rock jutting from the moss. Riffi spread her wings as she bent herself into a crouch, like she was preparing to launch herself at the liogoose.

"Okay, Snitch, now hold still and let me peck your head so we can call it even." For a second, it look as if she was actually going to fling herself at Serendipity, but then her beady gaze fell upon the other Gembound. She notice how he had feathers like her, but those talons, they looked like they could really poke an eye out. And his eyes, they were huge and weird! She flattened her rustled feathers tucked her wings back into her side, swishing her blue tail as she tilted her body back into her normal perching position. Riffi cocked her head to the side, still staring at the owl with curiousity.

"So, who's Wide-Eyes over here?"

The loud hiss that emitted from the first stranger's maw made Talion's laughter immediately cut off, and his gaze to snap from her, to the other stranger above as she launched a rock. It was apparent by the surprised squawk, and the lone, blue feather that slowly drifted down, that she had found her mark. However, it was another few moments before the other Gembound ever made an appearance. First, it had to had a good laugh over what the young owl had assumed was an insult, but what it seemed to take as something very, very clever. Strange, he thought in confusion, before a small, blue ball shot into sight, before flapping its way to a rock a few hops away that was jutting from the mossy cavern floor.

The other avian was smaller than Talion, and the liogoose, but her words came off just as threatening as anyone their size. She exuded confidence, and didn't seem to have a care in the world as she situated herself to seem more comfortable. Finally, she turned her gaze on him, and in an instant, he began to feel uncomfortable under it. At first, he tried to remain still and just let her study him, but she kinda kept on staring past when he thought she should. So, while he waited he shifted restlessly, opening and closing his wings a few times and leaning his weight on one foot or the other. In the same expectant, demanding tone she had used before, she finally asked who he was, though not to him, to the other Gembound.

"I am Talion," he said firmly as he hopped forward. He hadn't done anything to these two, so he didn't expect any hostility his way. However, he did expect to at least be acknowledged. "What are your names?" The young Gembound tried to ask before the two others could focus in on each other again. They obviously knew each other from sometime before now, leaving him at a disadvantage. Hopefully, he could distract them with his question though and he could catch up some. He certainly didn't want in on the fighting, or being pooped on, but he wanted to know as much as he could.

A little ways away from the group of young gembounds a group of golems rambled among a pile of old shards. These were likely remnants of former gems that had long since hatched and had just now attracted the rocky-monsters. There were three of them: two large golems about four feet tall and one small one that only reached about two feet. The larger ones were pushed far in front of the smaller, seeming to gather the shards with their rocky arms while the smaller one... well, it couldn't get at the shards at all despite all of its reaching. There was no ill-will between them it was just that with its smaller build it couldn't get to anything.

However, in the blink of an eye it stopped straightened from its slightly hunching posture that it'd been in. If it had a head --rather than just a sphere-ish shaped body-- it might have tilted it at that moment as something caught its attention. The small golem turned and began to lumber away then, straight towards the young gems. It didn't conceal its steps and within a few moments it was cracking and breaking twigs in the undergrowth as it walked. Then, finally it breached the plants and made it into the same area as the three youngsters. Its rock-arms reached out in front of it as lumbered straight towards the darker owl intent on getting at the gem hidden in his chest feathers.
