Eira waited patiently for his time, and it seemed that it had come. His remaining red eye flickered, glancing around the area that had been chosen as their battlefield. Eira went over the rules in his head, one by one. No hurting the combatant. No
trying to hurt the combatant. No magic. It's a good thing Eira wasn't exactly well-versed in the magickal arts. But damn, was he well versed in the physical.
He knew his combatant; a lion. These 'demons' seemed to get bigger and bigger as time went by. He chuckled softly to himself as he waited.
Albeit, today's match wasn't
quite against a demon, but this would make some good training for the real deal. And so he remained silent, watching and waiting. His face was as stoic as ever and his expression unreadable. His wounds from her last tussle had long since healed over, leaving patches of ruffled or thin fur marred by faint scabs and scars.
"I'm ready. Are you?" he asked.
@Xerxes
Their words were the only incentive Eira needed, and with an acknowledging bow of his head, he prepared. Like a slingshot, the pure white otter, blue mask glistening on his face to hide any sort of emotion...
Aiming for one of their thick, muscular limbs, the otter had seen the opportunity he needed lurking in their opponent's heavy mane. He'd aim to entangle his paws and hang there, rendering sight useless. After that, she'd rely on the moment. Although maybe that was an ambitious plan; maybe they were too large. But it wouldn't hurt to try...
Without a moment of further hesitation the otter threw himself forwards, aiming to clamber up their leg and onto their back.
However, as hard as he tried, he was unable to get a proper grip, as this was a far cry from her usual method of simply leaping at them. He was used to having a high point. But that wasn't always going to be the case...
Round 1/5
Attack: climb Xerxes' leg!
Defense: none
Injuries: scarred eye, shallow cuts.
@Xerxes
Eira growled under her breath as she once again failed, only for the larger creature to easily swat her aside with an enormous paw. It would seem the otter might have bitten off more than she could chew, but this time Eira was sure she was ready. As she was shoved rudely in a to-them gentle motion, Eira swung around and grabbed onto their wrist with her rubbery paws, aiming to scramble up and onto their back now instead, in mid swipe.
Round 2/5
Attack: climb Xerxes' paw and onto his back!
Defense: none
Injuries: scarred eye, shallow cuts.
@Xerxes
Xerxes chuckled as the otter yet again tried what had failed the last time. Why did they try again? Hadn't they learned the first time? Apparently not! He could see the frustration on the white otters face and in their eyes, only making him want to laugh more! Maybe trying some actual attacks and not just climbing him like a junglegym would be a better move.
He smiled and stood before turning quickly on his heels, attenpting to lash the otter with his tail.
@eira
This wasn't working; Eira's frustration was only growing with every missed opportunity. It seemed that she was better at fighting demons than a playful match where she wasn't allowed to draw blood. Bah. This wasn't the kind of fight Eira had been anticipating, and as a result, the adrenaline pounding through her veins was growing frantic.
As Xerxes swung his tail at her, Eira tried again to use their move to her advantage, aiming to grab onto the tail as it was swung to scramble up it. Her rubbery paws grasped and she bared her fangs in a (hopefully) threatening way.
It was becoming increasingly clear that someone of her stature wasn't built for a friendly wrestle.
Round 3/5
Attack: climb Xerxes' tail!
Defense: none
Injuries: scarred eye, shallow cuts.
@Xerxes has failed to respond in 3 days! As a result
@Eira has won the wrestling competition and will move on to fight
