He'd been spending a lot of time in Polaris lately what with the passing of the Magicka Competition and the meeting of many new gembounds he hardly wanted to leave. He was all about schmoozing others and seeing what he could get out of them after they became "friends". Still, with befriending others he was shocked to find that he didn't really... feel, anything. Sure, he liked to talk to others and found enjoyment out of the things they did but no other emotions came to him. No sense of bonding or commitment. Nothing past his initial feeling of entertainment. If everyone he'd befriended fell off of a cliff and died well... he wouldn't particularly care. Well, a little he might because then he'd have to find some other way to while away his hours. A bit of an inconvenience it would be.
He chuffed out of his mouth, a strange sound that was a mix of frustration and confusion at his own lack of emotions. Was this normal? He saw others that seemed to be ga-ga over each other and some that were inseparable at the hip... but he? Nothing like that. Sure, he knew how to mimic the emotions to make others think he felt that way but they never reached his heart and never bound him down. An advantage but also... different. He shook his head, trying to dislodge the thoughts in his mind as he focused on what he was doing now... Which was searching for someone or something to amuse him. He needed something to do now besides chase his thoughts around in circles because of the phenomena of his lack of real loving sensations.
In the distance he could see something shimmering, glowing. It was a different glow than the crackling Spire in the room, this one was golden and attracted him to it. He extended his long-legged gait into a trot as he approached this new thing. His body was still youthful, still he hadn't grown into his legs and he still had a tiny bit of puppy-chub at his belly but it was clear that he would be a slim fellow upon reaching his full size. No one could deny the handsomeness of his features though with his split face and that contagious grin upon his maw as he approached what he could see now was another canine.
Now, upon hatching and meeting Hawke and Septiezal he knew what "Cute" was and when he met Arkrael he knew what "Strong" was. Never before though had he seen "Beautiful" and stirred up strange emotions in his young heart. He didn't feel commitment or anything of the sort but he did feel... something, that was different than the norm. Her glowing fur and gilded coat had his eyes tracing up and down her form despite himself and it was a few moments before he caught what he was doing and stopped to meet her rosen-hued gaze. Ah, what gorgeous eyes. He wanted her on his size... Needed to add her to his arsenal of "friends" so that he would have "Beautiful" all for himself.
The hound's tail wagged as he heard her sigh. So, was she upset? He could work this to his advantage. "Oh my, is that your magick? It's so beautiful... then again, it might just be you. It looks like your coat is made of gold." He turned his muzzle away as if he had become too shy to speak further. "Sorry... I've just never seen anything like it but what should I expect from the winner of the Magicka Competition?" Oh yes, he remembered her now. The first place winner of the competition. No doubt she already knew of her magical prowess and beauty but it didn't hurt to dote. Mayhaps it would put him in her favor.
"Speech!"
