The little one liked it here! The flowers, the trees, the feel of the soft mosses beneath her foot... and her skin surely showed it! Goosebumps rippled over her in little waves as though she was growing in scales, only for them to fade away quickly as they'd appeared. She'd met some friends here too! It was warm, the perfect temperature to keep her slick hide moist and soft.

And there was so much water! At this moment in time, she was sitting by a small pond, in which she was examining her reflection. She wasn't thirsty, as her hide was already slick, slimy, and moist. She'd just noticed something new, and as she sat by the pond, she was wriggling her small claws, which now sat on the ends of short, developing fingers. She didn't know what was happening to her, but she thought it was fascinating, and she wanted it to happen faster! Trying to get a closer look at her new fingers, the slug plopped her head into the water, not seeming to understand the way reflections actually worked.

Ash had traveled on after meeting Xireidi. She didn't know where she was going, not that it really mattered. As she walked, she noticed a small pond. She walked over to it and looked at her reflection. A long snout, white scales with flecks of gray, blue-gray eyes, and pink and black horns. She admires herself for a moment longer before noticing her wings. She had noticed them before, but hadn't given them much of a look. She opened them and looked at her reflection once more. One wing was white, and looked very bat-like, while the other was black and feathery. She flapped a few times until she heard a sound to her left.

She looked and saw a tiny black...something had put their head into the water. Why had they done that? She folded her wings and walked over, looking at the smaller creature. They looked to be slimy and black. "Hello? Who are you and...why are you doing that?"

@Equinox

It was only upon not finding her reflection and raising her head to look for it on the surfice again that the little slug realized she wasn't alone. A gurgling sound emerged from her throat as she examined the newcomer closely. And then she began to squirm towards them, a slime trail forming and oozing towards the water in her wake.

She had her mouth wide open so that she could stare straight at them.

Their voice greeted her, and they seemed to be talking to her. In response, her warbling, gurgling sound grew louder as she contemplated her response. "H... Hooll...Hollo... I...I... Gooonna... hooorg ya." she gurgled, in response. But it was their other question which had her stumped. Although she kept on wriggling towards them with her developing fingers twitching, she had to stop, close her eye, and consider.

Who was she?

...She had no idea. She knew that she wasn't like anyone else she'd met, but she didn't know how many others lived in the caves to start with and if any of them would be like her. She didn't know where to go to get a name, either. Everyone else seemed to have a name. Did she have to make her own? She didn't think she'd like that. She didn't even know if she could say it yet...

"Wh... Whooooo yooouuu?" she asked instead.
