"Speech" Thoughts

Big hairy? Now that was a new name Arkrael hadn't heard before. She looked down at herself, studying the fur that covered her. Why was she covered in fur? "I don't know...just am" Arkrael finally answered the dragon as she set her miss-matched eyes upon his small form again. "I'm a wolf. I guess all wolves have fur?" She couldn't really say for certain if that were true or not, but she had guessed so. She hadn't met another wolf, so she only had herself to base her answers off of. "Are there others like you around too?" It was a curious question. If only to herself even. The thought of being the only wolf around in the caves was kind of...- she didn't know, but it wasn't a pleasant feeling. Sure she had Tamelyn as her dear hatchmate, but she had other deer around to frolic around with when Arkrael wasn't around.

So did this creature have companions around? It didn't seem very likely really with the way he behaved. Then again, being as small as he was Arkrael was not at all surprsied. She too would be aggressive towards bigger animals if it meant keeping herself alive. For amoment she wondered if this lizard would stay the size he was, or if he was destined to grow much bigger. Arkrael hoped, for this fellows sake, that he did. There truly was no telling what could happen if something wanted to try to gobble him right up. Of course, if Lizard spat at them like he had to Arkrael surely they would think different. That stuff had been gross and even now it still seemed to stick to the fur around her nose. She was just happy it didn't smell.

She was a wolf, and all wolves have fur. Good to know. Except she didn't know why she had fur in the first place, even though all of her kind had it. That was weird. She had to know why she had it if it was an important feature of her kind. Maybe she was just stupid and ill-educated. Ghanyarah knew many things about himself - he knew his limits and his strengths, and what he was and meant for. He knew he wasn't meant for wriggling like the snake he met was, but he was very good at running away, and defending himself. He was also apparently very good at negotiating his own survival against large predators like this wolf. He narrowed his eyes and shoved his large, paddle-like maw up at the wolf. More of him? Not really, not that he saw. "No." He answered with a huff, then became thoughtful. "Well... found... Midas. Snake, long scaly, but not like me. Wriggle. Not like me." The dragon shook his head.

The snake had also asked him for a name. Ghanyarah had never really known what his name was. He had avoided it earlier with the wolf, but the question nagged at the edges of his mind. It never really occurred to him before. But now he wanted to know. Did the wolf have the answer to it? She had a name, where did she get it? The dragon tilted his head to the side. "What name? Where get it?" He asked, whipping his tail to the side with immense curiosity. The pain had begun to fester in his cheek again. "Quick, quick!" Ghanyarah said impatiently, shifting weight between his long, clawed feet. He didn't want to be here any longer, while the anxiety inside of him began to grow and the pain in his afflicted cheek implied that fungi would soon sprout between his broken scales again.

"Speech" Thoughts

A snake?! Now that was an interesting thing that Ghanyarah had mentioned. Arkrael couldn't recall if she has ever come across one of these snakes. A long scaly, but not like him? She'd have to keep an eye out. The she-wolf's ears pushed forward when Ghanyarah pitched another question at her. A name? "Well uhm..." She began thoughtfully as she turned her gaze about the area as if searching for the answer. "You kinda just...know it. I just knew mine when I emerged from my chrysalis," She turned her gaze back to Ghanyarah as she pondered over her own answer. "I guess it comes from here..." She picked up her paw and placed it over her chest.

"Maybe you just gotta think a little harder for yours?" she gave the offer of an idea. She really couldn't tell him where names came from. It was just a natural thing for her to call herself. Maybe it just didn't work the same for others as it did for her? Questions swirled through her mind before she ultimately just shoved them to the back of her mind and focused upon Ghanyarah again. "Could always just try to say what comes to mind. Maybe that would work for you too."

Unfortunately, Ghanyarah found her answer to be unsatisfactory. He had tried to think of a name for himself but nothing really came. He hadn't the chance to find it after emerging from his chrysalis. Had he lost his opportunity to find a name? She spoke of knowing it from the start and it coming from somewhere inside - her chest? How? He furrowed his brow and shook his head at her suggestion. No, no, thinking about it just wouldn't work! It never worked! The pain in his cheek throbbed and he scowled. "Ugh!" He hissed and turned away. He had to leave before the mushrooms would push through his scales again. "Don't follow!" The reptile reminded her and darted away, finding shelter among the low lying vegetation.

Exit Ghanyarah!

Arkrael tilted her head as the little lizard only hissed at her and turned away. It left another grin on her muzzle as he turned and scurried off. She waved her paw at him as he reminded her not to follow. Oh well, perhaps she would find him again some time later. With that in mind Arkrael rose to her paws and turned around. She had to be getting back anyways. She should probably be making her way back home anyways. With one last glance over her shoulder for Ghanyarah Arkrael gave a farewell bark for him to hear before she bounded away. Heading home to clean off all the mud and filth she had gathered within Cetus.
