ORIGIN - A home that was never truly his.

Deep in the darkness, tucked away into a place that roared with the thunder of a waterfall, sat an ever silent creature. Cream fur covered his large frame, tainted only by an even purer white. Gentle blue eyes searched the darkness for the waterfall he knew was there. He knew this place only in stories he had been told when he was only but a cub. Long before the caves had gone dark and nothing was to be seen again.

Achilles had explored by himself for what felt like an eternity now. His siblings seemingly disappearing into the caves and never returning. It was the entire reason he had left his birthplace and went searching. Not only had his siblings disappeared, but so had his beloved mother. Having no luck in finding his siblings Achilles had found his way to the place his mother had only mentioned a couple times. It was here that he had hoped to find the lioness, but it didn't seem like she was around.

Her scent lingered in the area, that much he knew, but even still it had to be a few days old. A frown marred his handsome hybrid features as his long tail swept around behind him. What he would give to turn the 'lights' back on in the cave. It would probably make his search all that much better. Blowing a rush of our out of his lips, causing a pbbbt sound, the liolf rose to his paws and gave a good long stretch of his back.

Shaking himself Achilles made to step close to the roaring waterfall and by the time he began feeling the spray of water against his pelt he slowed his pace. He didn't figure it would be wise to just go strolling up and accidentally falling into the water right beneath a waterfall. He'd never seen one before, so it was really disappointing that he couldn't see it. Settling with the fact he could at least listen to the rather soothing sound Achille's inched a bit closer until his paws found the edge of the water and soon plopped right down onto his belly as his two front paws dipped into the water.

It wouldn't hurt to stay here a little bit longer until he set off to check another part of the cave in search of his family.

The darkness was something that he was not very fond of and something he was not getting used to. He missed having perfect sight in the light of the caves and it was something he never even thought about. He supposed it was true, one never knew what they had until it was gone. The pharaoh hound knew now that he would never take for granted the lights of the caves ever again.

For now he had to us his nose to get him around the caverns in combination with his ears and what he could feel. It was slow going but he eventually made his way from the room of fog to where he could hear a waterfall crashing. Not only that... But he could smell someone with a rather unique scent. Something that reminded him of a feline but yet... a canine as well. How... Intriguing.

He felt his curiosity piqued as he picked up his walk to a trot, following the smell right up to a pool of water. In the darkness he could see easily the bright cream creature in the darkness. It seemed to be some sort of mixture of two gembounds... It was something he'd never seen before and something that interested him to no end. He felt a grin forming on his face as he approached. He remembered the feelings of being alone upon reemerging into the world but now it all vanished as he focused on this one and on gaining someone as an ally.

"Hello there, I don't think I've ever met anyone as interesting as you before. What's your name?" He tried to take in all that he could of the stranger but with the lights out there was only so much he could see.

Shame.

Before long Achilles had fallen into a light slumber. Enjoying the cool water on his forepaws and the soothing roar of the fall. It wasn't until the sound of shuffling did the Liolf stir from his slumber. Slowly eyes opened as pointed ears twisted up into attention before one arched backward. The soft thud of paw steps was certainly not part of his dreams. He snorted for a moment, urging himself to raise up to his paws and before too long he finally did; just as a voice rose from the darkness.

Achilles sat up, giving a rather large yawn before he finally turned to face the creature. Baby blue eyes searched the frame in the dark. Trying to depict what kind of creature it was, but to no avail did he succeed. It was his sense of smell that told him it was a canine.

A smile set across his features as he sat properly before the creature. "Greetings, my name is Achilles. Though, I would not go so far as to say I am interesting," soft laughter escaped the male as he swept his long tail around behind him. "Are you from around here? What's your name?"

Pharoah didn't know he'd interrupted a nap and when the creature began speaking to him he was none the wiser. He could see in the darkness that the male chose to sit before him and to keep up with proper manners he mirrored his actions and did the same, his rump coming to rest on the ground as his tail thumped a soft, friendly cadence behind him. "Oh, but you are modest. Never before have I seen or smelled someone like you." Which only made him want to know more. It was too rare an opportunity to pass up. "Achilles. I am Pharoah, a pleasure to meet you!" He gave a polite little dip of his head before continuing on. "From around here? No, I'm afraid not. I'm a bit of a wanderer and I've recently woken up from a long sleep." Here he paused to look up, he was unsure of how well the other saw in the dark but he still did the action anyway. "Everything seems to be a bit darker now than when I first went to sleep, a bit strange if I do say so myself." His gaze lowered back to the form in front of him, green eyes glitning in the darkness.

"Speech!"
