Astaroth tried to roll back over as she lunged to bite his stomach, he yelped as he felt the teeth sink into the soft flesh then gritted his teeth, now he was more than just disgusted as to her lack of honor in a fight, he was angry, and in pain. He didn't like pain, and he would inflict it on all those that inflicted it on him. He got up and stalked towards the otter. Chuckling quietly."You know, I don't think I'll kill you, there are worse punishments than death."

Eira wads finally rewarded by the salty, metallic taste of blood in her maw, staining her snowy white muzzle. A single drop dripped from one of her whiskers as she once more turned to face them, tiny ears twitching to the sound of their voice, her remaining eye flashed in the dark... This time they moved towards her, and Eira growled softly, holding her ground, eye darting as she looked for her next opportunity.

In a few moments, she'd chosen her opportunity.... and took it almost immediately... She ran at them head on, and threw herself beneath them, once more going for their belly. She'd found a weakness, and she was going to make them dwell on it.

Astaroth was done with the ow moves that this creature, this beast was using. He moved back from the maw of the otter and concentrated, hoping to grab her with his new power. His eyes flashed bright violet as he felt the power rush through him, he focused on stopping the otter, trying to keep her from biting him with it at the least, focusing on trying to push her downward and away.

As she lunged, Eira found it harder to continue- as though she were trapped in the vice grip of an invisible wind, or something similar. The otter growled and struggled, despite the leaden feeling in her limbs managing to move, and instead of attacking their belly, she instead tried to sink her sharp fangs into their foreleg, knowing that if their concentration was broken, then their spell would be broken too.

Hopefully the pain of her clamping down onto the bone would be enough... Hah, sarcasm... of course it would be enough. If it wasn't, she might just have to gnaw their limb right off.

He felt the bite of the otter, felt the teeth sink into his skin. He had watched the otter, satisfied in his success in at least delaying the attack. He noticed that the further his eyes stayed from the beast the harder it was to continue the spell. He slowly moved his head downward, moving it with the otter, she seemed determined to at least bite him somewhere. As he felt the teeth sin into his skin he lunged forward, hoping to bite her by the back of the neck.

The warm, sweet taste of blood again, and after so long... Eira was unable to stop her small, red-stained fangs from baring into a broad, blood-soaked grin. It was dangerous to get cocky, but the taste was like sugar to her, and the otter knew that she would need to go and eat after this. Too many cycles had passed since her last meal. Too many.

It was then that she felt their hot breath on her neck, and unhooked her fangs and writhed out of the way, a spray escaping her jaws as she slid out of their grasp and retreated, her one-eyed gaze focused on them as she retreated to a safe enough distance to calculate her next move.

Ast felt himself miss, it seemed his aim had been slightly off at the least. He hoped to recover quick enough to make another lunge at her, hoping to bite her on the shoulders or the neck back of the neck again. Knowing that the extra move was a mistake he lost his balance and fell to the side, rolling so his stomach was to the ground and moved into a low crouch, facing the otter.

Once more, the canid failed to reach her. Perhaps it was this darkness or her lithe, slippery body as it wound and weaved out if the way of their jaws whenever they struck. Eira waa a seasoned fighter, and it truly showed in her motions, as well as her cool calculations that came with every move despite the rage seething inside her.

Her eyes glittering, Eira struck out once more, aiming to sink her fangs into their neck in the opening granted by their failure.

He saw the otter going at him and tried to summon his powers, concentrating on her heartbeat, hoping to make it change, stutter like the hearts of the lesser gembounds he hunted often. He felt it falter quickly though. He cringed when he felt the teeth of the otter sink into the flesh of his neck, he reared back when she did in pain, the other wounds hadn't bled near as much or hurt as much as this one. At least she was facing him honorably at this time though.

Again, Eira tasted sweet blood, and her jaw reacted accordingly. The otter tried to clamp down on their neck, staying firmly attached so that the longer she stayed, the more damage would be done. Rubbery paws once more tried to entangle themselves in their mane and her red eye narrowed in concentration.

If Eira continued in this way, never faltering, and never letting them close, then they would be forced to flee with blood pouring from a thousand wounds. But she wouldn't let them escape.
