A wave of pleasure rushed through her, although brief. Satisfaction was satisfaction and she stored it for later to reminisce on. Gadanai observed the other for a moment, snorting out a bit of blood, but still stuck with mouth breathing. Something like a growl hummed in her throat, her brain trying to calculate how to react. She chose a go-to option; charging, again.

In an instant, her legs carried her over the land with a surprising amount of grace and purpose. Her trunk was curled, pain throbbing in the muscle. Tusks were out, aiming to create some damage. Impact would do; perhaps she would be able to toss the lion over her shoulder. What a good show that would be!

Claws kneaded the earth as she waited to see what the elephant would do, tail lashed back and forth with the pent up energy where she almost felt as if she would explode. After a moment, she charged again just as she did at the start of the battle. Makyna crouched low but this time she didn't try to dodge out of the way, if she was hit this time it would do a lot of damage but she still didn't run.

Instead she shifted her gaze from the elephant's face down to her thundering feet. Blue eyes narrowed as she focused on one and tapped into her magick again. Rather than blast her backwards the lioness attempted to grab one of her feet with her mind and trip it up, maybe make the elephant fall or stumble. Anything she could do really to break her out of her charge.

The path was clear and her victim holding her ground. She trumpeted as she closed in, ready for the glorious impact that was certain to happen. Then, the lioness got that look on her face. Of course she'd seen tells before. Her forefeet felt a pull, like starting to run through sand. Still, she carried herself as far as she could... until all at once both feet slid out from under her. Gadanai's injured trunk was pounding with pain as her face slammed on the ground, the momentum causing her body to flip over.

Left cheek bloodied, legs sore with knees busted to hell, and various scrapes upon her left side. Of course she slid just a bit. Not much, but enough to incite a pain that was coupled by having her body roll and land awkwardly for such a large mammal. It really was one hell of a fall. Elephants weren't built for it, even if they were powerful creatures. A different impact is what she was meant to tolerate. Dammit all, she was failing herself.

She could still see the elephant coming for her, running and trumpeting her victory... until all at once she seemed to lose her balance and fall. Just as the lioness wanted. However the momentum that the creature had built up she continued to go forward, even as she slipped and fell. Makyna should have expected this result but did not and was caught in the wreckage of the fall. With a yowl of dismay and pain she felt the elephant's bulk land on the end of her tail, no doubt breaking it or at the very least bruising it to all hell.

The lioness could feel tears forming at the corner's of her eyes from the pain and without even thinking she let out a roar, a reaction and mostly a method to hopefully remove the elephant from so near her. She just wanted that pressure off of her limb and keep it from damaging it further.

Frankly, the elephant had no idea she'd landed on the cat's tail. She barely noticed the sound of the roar, but certainly felt the pressure shove her forward, making the elephant wince a little. A deep breath prepared her for what needed to be done. One leg at a time, she got herself up to her feet. At first, she was a bit unbalanced, body tired and in pain. To give it one more go was foolish, but she went for it anyway, a deep rumble fueling her swing. Brows were furrowed and ears fanned out. Teeth were clinched. Tail was swishing back and forth madly. At this point, anything in the vicinity of her trunk would get a hell of a wallop, even if her appendage barely touched the hide of another.

The push she gave the elephant was enough to free her tail but from the pain she could tell that it was horribly damaged. She stole a glance back at it to see it hanging limply from a few inches above the tuft. That would need to be seen to later. For now she had to focus on this elephant and what would happen next as she didn't seem to want to give up just yet. A shame...

The lioness blue eyes saw that trunk rise once more, bloodied and ready to deliver a blow to her body... but... not if she could help it. The lioness wasn't even bent on damaging her opponent. Just keeping her at bay, perhaps long enough to tire her out. She wasn't opposed to harming just, she preferred it this way if they kept at each other in such a way that Makna could avoid damage and the elephant could just keep expending energy.

She reached out with her magick in an attempt to grab that trunk, holding it still so that she would be unable to come any closer with the limb to cause harm but her magick failed her and that trunk came closer and closer until finally it slapped her across the chest. Bruising the skin underneath and sending her backwards, head over tail. The lioness felt a snarl rip from her throat at the pain in her body but she wouldn't allow herself to stay down. Instead she rose to her paws again, slowly as she went into a crouch, waiting for the elephant's next move.

Defenses: Claws out. Catch Gadanai's trunk with magick and keep her from hitting her.
Injuries: Moderate bruise along her left side. Broken tail. Moderately bruised chest.
