ORIGIN

Darkness. That's all he could see. Samyuoo had just come to. Gaining consciousness was a rather terrifying experience to him. He could barley move as he laid there, alone and unaware of where he was. Samyuoo starts to struggle, letting out a yip of fear. He absolutely hated small spaces. He heard several cracks as he pressed his weak hind legs against the green prison that held him. Then alas. Fresh air and a beautiful wide open area. Samyuoo found comfort here, but he was still very wary of his surroundings. He shakily stands up, trying to get used to his flimsy land legs. Left legs, right, left, right....water? The pup lets out a startled yip as he feels cold water cover his paw. He lifts his head to see a large pool, his eyes filling with wonder. He carefully dips his paw in once again, the funny new feeling exciting him. SPLASH! He leaps into the pool, the water soaking through his coat. Sammy rolls around, flinging water in every direction as his tail wagged. As far as he knew, he was alone and wet. But is was the most exciting experience he's had yet.

Eira had been skulking along in the dark since her victory. Despite everything, she had let the blasted thing get away, squirming away into the dark that it called a home. Eira had hunted for it at first, but soon, her senses had given out, the scent trail fading into a dead end. So, Eira wandered aimlessly; there were bound to be many more that had risen up in leu of her long absence.

She didn't know where she had ended up, but experiences told her there was a lot more to crash into. more plants tickling at her belly. Eira had never been to this room before, so she naturally assumed there had to be a greater evil here somewhere. Head down, the otter kept on moving, sniffing at the air in an effort to better find her way. And then... a distant splash reached her ears. A tiny yip. The otter tried to decipher which way the sound was coming from. It didn't seem like a demon... but one couldn't be too careful in the dark.

Eira approached, first dropping her head into the water and inhaling as much as her body could take, and then let her body slip into the pond. It's surprisingly shallow; Eira's head is still above the water. Clearing her throat, Eira called out in a deep, gravelly voice. "Who goes there? Demon, or innocent?"

His pawsteps thundered across the ground, echoing as he sprinted through the dense undergrowth in the ubiquitous darkness. Why was the gargantuan beast running? Simple. There were a herd of cave deer before him, dashing through the undergrowth as they desperately sought to flee him. Baratheon wasn't even hungry, wasn't giving into the prey drive and bloodlust to let loose. No. He was simply enjoying himself like a dog chasing after a ball for the sheer joy of it. He let out a hoarse bark-like noise from his throat as he chased after the herd, right up until they made a mad dash to the side, doubling back and evading him as they split up.

The beast's pink eyes looked this way and that as he tried to keep track of them but to no avail. They were too quick and disappearing too quickly in the gloom. Ah well... Fun over. With a snort he turned away, towards the eyes where he knew that he could get a drink of water. He'd been running for a while and now he was parched. With his blue tongue lolling out of his mouth he made his way towards the waters to find that someone was already occupying the pools. Two someones by the sounds of it. He stopped, head tilting to the side as he examined what he could of the creatures in the darkness. He normally would have said something but at this moment he was far too out of breath. So, with sides heaving and tongue still out of the corner of his mouth he let out a another bark, this one lighter and more welcoming, obviously a greeting that he hoped would speak volumes to both of them.

The pup quickly lifted his head, startled at first when he heard the new voice. What did they mean? What was a demon? He sniffed around, taking careful steps through the water. "I... I don't know" he answered shyly. It was hard for him to track the scent with all of this water. Suddenly he spotted a faint white figure in the dark. Samyuoo approached cautiously, his ears hanging down as the water dripped from his soaked coat. "What are you?" He sat infront of them, noticing the blue mask that they wore. His ears quickly perked, the bark getting his attention "W..who else is here?" He caught scent of someone else nearby, eyes scanning the darkness cautiously

Eira paused for a moment, in the darkness her body tensing up, curling slightly in on itself with nerves. Not only was there someone else here, but their voice... The noises that she could hear left quite the bestial impression. Swinging her head, Eira at first tried in vain to peer into the darkness to find out what was there. Even the other one seemed unsure... but their voice was young, and filled with such uncertainty that Eira concluded they couldn't possibly be a demon. Eira let out a tiny snort, closing her remaining eye to the dark.

"I see. Don't worry, then. As a citizen of these caves, I'm sworn to guard those like you, from that which lurks in the dark," Eira's voice was loudly pronounced, clearly directed at whatever... creature... was listening in. "I'm Eira. A guardian. What form I possess doesn't matter..." Eira got the sense that the creature standing alongside them was far, far bigger than she was. So if there was any doubt in their mind, revealing that she was merely an otter could be... foolish.

"I don't know, young one..." the older creature raised her voice, yelling out into the darkness. "Reveal yourself! Whether you are demon or citizen, I need to know!"
