It's no secret that I love me some big projects to work on, and uni this year has been especiallly good for that!

I know I've been rather slow posting recently, and I apologize for that. However, know that uni finishes at the end of may, so I'll soon be back full-time! In the meantime however, I'd love to show you guys a bit of what I've been working on, and maybe even allow beta testers!

In the link below, you can see snippets of a game I've made; a pixel RPG called Outcast.

It might not look like much at the minute, but Outcast has been a huge undertaking for me. I've made not only the art and animations, but also programmed every inch of gameplay from scratch. Last year, I produced a 40-page document on the game and the research surrounding it such as the market and studies that look at animation styles and wolf movements.

Even when I've finished this year at uni, I plan to continue developing the game to bring it closer to what I envisioned as 12 weeks is nowhere near enough time to make it into the game I want it to be. Hopefully I'll even end up putting it up for sale.

Any thoughts, advice, gameplay suggestions, etc?

Everything is a big work in progress at the moment so expect some goofs and whatnot that I need to straighten.
Oh super cool!! (The tiny mouse and fawn sprites are way too cute oh my gosh.) I really like the added detail of a hard stop instead of just 'this is a barrier you stop moving' deal, and the ripples in the water. So often those two things are so easily left out haha, but they really make a difference :T I'd rather bounce off of a barrier and have my character physically like.. bump into it like how you have it, instead of just the typical walking into a wall type of deal. SERIOUSLY. gets me. so much. Even the subtle shuffling backwards or something and a grunt like some games. (Ok sorry rant anyway bless your soul I love that you added it, means so much *wipes tear*) - Also the walking over to something you interact with from a short distance instead of sprinting two feet, hahaha, that gets me too. I love the animations a lot!
This is really great moon, the only suggestion I could think of is having a reduced movement rate while the character is in the water, it just seems more realistic, but besides that it looks great! I'm sure it'll be amazing when it's done
thanks so much for all the positive feedback, you guys ;;
It means so much <3
And omg CJ I know what you mean, those things are so annoying in games, especially 3D ones. It's the worst when NPCS collide with a wall and just keep walking, not even bothering to move away from the goddamned wall lmfao

Here's a video I took from a couple of months ago. It's pretty boring if I'm honest, but I'm pretty pleased with development. I've added a couple of things since then, but the general gist is the same. cx

slippery, yet satisfying 8')

It still looks so cool. Also I love the happy wolf that wants to join your pack but just SITS BY YOUR FRONT DOOR. Like my dude, I coulda claimed the first den I came across, but nooo, I found a COOL den. And you're just gonna heavybreathing sit there omg 8'( brb dying

(jk i love it and the rats are too cute still please save them)
whoooaaa this looks so cool omg ;o; super hyped
