Kin-Kin's mind was buzzing as she plodded back home to Polaris, tail swishing softly behind her. Her paws left tracks on the softly glowing mosses about the cave and pebbles clashed together with a gravelly sound, but she barely noticed them.
The swords, the strange new magic, everything about that newcomer was strange. And yet she wanted those spells. Had they made them? Could she make new spells? She had to know. She needed to know. The paintings were unlike anything she'd ever seen begore, and they remained even when the painter was gone. The spectral figure of herself seemed to have a mind of its own, so it was not simply an illusion of light. Something was different about them, and Kin-Kin was simply dying to know what.
Kin-Kin turned in a flash, cape swishing behind her as she wondered if the little spectral wolf had followed her home. She didn't see it, and her heart sank. Kin-Kin sat back on her haunches to wait, ears perking up, just in case she was going too fast for it.
