After the encounter with the strange creature who was able to paint pictures that came to life, Zevruu traveled to Orion. His home. Lately, it didn't feel like home though. The lights were too bright, too blaring. After cycles of being hidden by the lack of light, it didn't feel right to be here. To be clearly seen by all. He found he much preferred the darkness. But no matter where he went, there was always some light. There always had been. His fur had a very soft glow, nothing like one he had seen elsewhere, but it was there. There was also his necklace, which faintly glowed as well.
He stayed in the shadows cast by the broken buildings, wanting to get as far away from the light as possible. He watched around him, eyes narrowed. He thought back to the strange creature he had seen earlier, and how their eyes had been able to glow. He thought about how he had been given that power. He didn't really have a chance to try it out earlier. Could he do it now? He concentrated on pouring his energy into his eyes. He wasn't sure if he would really know if it worked, but it couldn't hurt to try.
Before too long, something felt different. He looked down and could see a faint blue glow. He grinned lightly and crept closer to the building. He looked around once more, eyes no longer narrowed so as to show off the glow.
"Speech" l 'Thoughts' | OOC: Hey! So, there's something I'd like to happen in this thread, but it doesn't have to happen! I want Zev to get into a battle. Can be with anyone, so long as they dont kill him cx He can be injured, certainly, but not killed. c: Again, a battle doesn't have to happen in this thread - if you want to join, and don't want your character to get in a fight, feel free to! I just...want him to git into a fight at some point cx
Felina awoke from her night's rest. She cleaned herself. She ate a light breakfast.
Today would be another day of exploring. Maybe she'd have an adventure as well. She sure hoped so.
The runty female bobcat went from place to place. She saw a large area filled with the most beautiful twinkling lights that filled her with awe. She wandered deeper...and then she saw another feline.
Felina paused for a moment. She may as well introduce herself: "Hello. My name's Felina. What's yours?" Her question was in a tone of respect, warmth, friendliness and kindness. She made enough space between herself and the other feline. She sat on her haunches. Would the male feline answer her?
Zevruu was still looking around when movement out of the corner of his eye alerted him. He watched as a feline approached. She was much smaller than he, and obviously younger. Then again, who wasn't? He'd been in these caves for a long, long time now. He'd only met a few who were older than he was, mostly when he was younger.
He stared at them as they spoke. He didn't realize at first, but as he lost concentration, the spell causing his eyes to glow faded away and he was left with nothing. Just his fur and necklace very faintly glowing. She introduced herself as Felina. An interesting name for a feline, albeit rather unoriginal. But hey, it was her name, and he wasn't one to judge too harshly.
Whether or not he would respond was a different thing. He'd always had a problem with talking to others. He was always very shy and nervous, and his voice usually had a stutter. As he grew older, however, his stutter slowly got better. It was still there, of course, and probably always would be. Nothing would change that. And he was still shy, still nervous, but for an entirely different reason now. As he stared at the cat, Feline, he found his mouth opening of its own accord, uttering a single word.
"Zevruu."

"Zevruu, eh? Pleased to meet you. Believe it or not, you're the first resident of this place that I've spoken to." She paused thoughtfully, then spoke again: "I'm doing some exploring. Want to come with me? Maybe there'll even be an exciting adventure on the way!" She sounded as excited as a kitten! She couldn't wait to have some fun!
Zevruu didn't speak again, instead just listening for a moment. When she spoke and said he was the first she'd spoken to, he spoke again.
"The first, hm? I've m-met many others, throughout these m-many cycles I've lived. You're just another i-insignificant gembound I've met." His voice became rather harsh at the end, but he ignored it. He'd met so many others. They had all become insignificant, just someone else he'd met.
As she spoke again, his eyes narrowed. Exploring? He knew everything about this place already. He knew the paths by heart. He could even navigate with his eyes closed! There wasn't a thing he didn't know about this place. He grunted. Besides, exploring seemed like a waste of time. He also didn't like her excitement. But hey, she was young. Very young. He was the first she'd spoken to, after all. She was just a kitten.
He sighed. Much as he didn't want to explore, he also didn't particularly want to be left alone at this point. He'd been alone for most of his life. Exploring would also be a lot better than doing nothing. Then again, he could always practice his spells, especially the new one he'd gotten. But maybe he could do that later. He had all the time in the world.
"Alright, sure. We can go exploring. Not like I have anything better to do. Lead the way." He flicked an ear, eyes still narrowed slightly.

Felina wondered why Zevruu wanted her to lead. She barely knew anything about the area! She did remember passing by a new looking place as she was wandering around. Maybe she'll go there with Zevruu.
"Let's go this way", Felina said. She canted her head towards the direction where the new location was situated. "I saw something very interesting. It was an area that seems pretty new. It was so clean that it was shining! I'd love to see how it looks from the inside!"
Felina turned towards the direction that she hoped was the right one. Her blue sapphire gemstone glowed faintly between the base of her tail and her two rear teats. She had a total of six teats from just behind her front legs to her tailbone. Though she didn't know it, the gem's location meant that she's sterile.
She started walking, hoping that Zevruu might follow her...

Zevruu flicked an ear. As she started walking in a direction, he followed. He didn't pay much attention to where they were going, just keeping his head facing forward. His paws seemed to move on their own, and he let his mind wander. He'd been in this cave so long, in other caves. There couldn't be a cave he hadn't been to. It was getting boring. He needed somewhere
new to go. Somewhere not surrounded by rock.
While following Felina, he decided to try his new spell again. He wanted to be able to master it, to always have that blue glow. So he took a deep breath, and reached deep inside himself, hoping to bring the light out. The response was almost immediate, and seemed just slightly brighter than it was before. Satisfied, he focused back on the cat in front of him, making sure she didn't stop suddenly and not run into her. He was much taller than she, and might just end up accidentally trampling her.

Felina could smell Zevruu behind her. Then his scent got closer. She took a few more steps ahead, but she had a feeling that something wasn't quite right. Was she going in the right direction? She hoped she wasn't lost. She hoped even more that she didn't get *Zevruu* lost. She'd feel simply awful if that happened.
"Let's stop for a moment. I need to get my bearings", Felina told Zevruu. "If you are hungry or thirsty, please find something to eat and/or drink. This may take a while, but hopefully not *too* long."
Felina sniffed around for anything that might orient her. Some kind of landmark would be helpful. Even if it's just an oddly-colored rock or an unusual plant. At least she'd have something that might help her find a clearer or more direct path.
"Well, here goes nothing", she muttered to herself.
Zevruu watched as she started walking, then stopped. And then walked some more. And then stopped. He flicked his tail lightly, but said nothing. It seemed she was lost. He, however, knew exactly where they were. He's walked these paths numerous times. He still didn't say anything, though. Felina could figure it out herself. When she spoke, he grunted. He hadn't realized it before, but now that she mentioned it, he
was thirsty. He hadn't drank anything in a while. Couldn't hurt to stop quickly and get some water.
"Alright. I won't take long," he murmured, already walking away.
Surefooted, the serval walked to a nearby stream. He crouched down and lapped up the water. When his thirst was quenched, he rose and licked any last droplets away before walking back to the smaller cat, sitting down and watching her.
