ORIGIN - A "perfect" hunting trip

Astaroth's vision blurred immensely as he kept concentrating, not even bothering with the bird swooping at him, he sat and concentrated, trying to gather enough energy to make it worse. He tapped into his remaining pool of energy, the power streaming through him into the bird. Focusing on forcing the remaining air out of the birds' lungs. Grinning with satisfaction as he knew somehow that it would work completely and as intended.

He couldn't take it; his lungs felt like they were burning like it was going to explode. Seeing black sparkles in his vision as it finally started to feel like he was about to black out. Honestly, he doesn't care anymore; he just wanted to ease his boredom looks like his precious little ego that made him get into trouble in the past was giving him trouble again. Now he just wants his goddamn scarf back.

He was practically sitting right in front of the canine now, trying to reach for the scarf but he knows they're not going to give it to him back all willy nilly. Seeing that grin and that figure in front of him a flashback came to him again for in his dizziness he no longer saw the canine he's battling, but instead, he sees the image of a massive dark canine with four eyes and drooling grotesque slime from his mouth.

Damn him... Must be still mocking me.

As if from reaction to that flashback and the desperation to save himself his Gem managed to surge with power again the tips of his Gem pointing directly at the canine, energy rising once again at the same time trying to crawl away between their legs pulling on the scarf or at least try to with his wings.

The power may have come for he can see a bright light in front of him. He can't tell, he's about to pass out, but if the Spell worked then it may have possibly given a direct hit on their front, or possibly just hit their tail or hind legs. Albeon can't tell but he did hear an exploding sound.

Ast screamed into the fabric of the scarf as he felt a searing pain along his hindquarters before he jumped up and twisted in midair to face the bird. My tail.. MY TAIL!!! THAT PIECE OF SHIT BURNT MY FUCKING TAIL!!! His eyes flashed bright violet as he growled loudly. Keeping a tight grip on one end of the scarf he placed a paw on the other and tried to twist it around to go around the neck of the stupid bird. He attempted to get it around and pull it tight, maybe a little higher on the neck than he wanted but he supposed it would work. So long as the asshole didn't have any more tricks up his sleeve.

He heard the air cutting sound of a scream so he must've hit something with that Spell. If he had been less dizzy, he would've made a snark that how he feels on how they stole his damned scarf. Whatever got hit, they sound pissed off about it.

He felt something tightening around him, he saw the gold silk of his scarf around him, which made himself relax a bit but Albeon felt the tightening and the strangling again, but he could see his prized possession. No way in hell was he going to be killed by his prized possession. He recalls another Spell he has that could help and remembers seeing an extremely thin slab of rock similarly shaped and sized to his scarf earlier on before all of this.

Keeping his eye on the scarf while being a little bit conscious he lets the power pool into his veins and calmly prepared.

It could just be that he sees things, but Albeon thinks he can see the scarf fading a little, and the strangling felt weaker, although that could only be him about to faint. But he keeps on going, imagining the rock from earlier to use as the replacement he thinks the weight on his neck has lifted with a new type of pressure on top of him as he falls to the ground.

Must've worked then... Why didn't he just do this in the first place? Could've done that before things got too dangerous for both of them. He's now going to make this getaway since it seems it was a success and so that means his scarf is no longer in the canine's clutches and is somewhere else in Orion, no reason to keep on fighting now.

Astaroth stopped short in confusion as he felt his grip on the scarf loosen, it instead having a slab of stone in it's clutches, he shook his head as he pushed it aside and pounced, hoping to land on the bird and its' neck. But he was tired and over-compensated, he slipped on a rock next to the bird and fell to the side of it, instead he just circled, making sure it didn't fly away.

He tries his best to regain some breathing when the canine caught amidst the bewilderment on how his scarf vanished, allowing himself to get some consciousness back so he could see what's going on a bit better. Recognizing that a slab of rock is in fact there, Albeon concluded that enough is enough now. He needs to know when to fold it, besides if this continues the fight may end up getting fatal for both of them. While this one here doesn't seem, it has a problem with killing; he could sense killing intent for the many offences he committed on them towards him. No matter how important it is, he's not murdering anyone.

Not to add the thing he wanted back was no longer in the canine's possession, he had no more reason to fight now his acrimony for them about gone. But he was slightly taken by surprise when they pounced next to him, barely avoiding Albeon. But now they're back up circling him again. He just needs an opening for a brief moment to make sure he has enough breathing room to get away.

"OK, seriously let's knock it off. I have no interest in fights to the death." He tries to reason, his tone maintaining a stoic no-nonsense to show how severe and honest he is about just stopping now.

Astaroth grimaced from the pain of limping around. He stalked towards the bird slowly then though. He placed his paw on the wing of the bird and pressed him into the ground. He focused his power into hearing and seeing all the bird has ever heard. Feeling what he's felt in the past. Knowing everything about him. He grinned "You'd think you'd learn your lesson, that cat was just looking to sustain himself. Just looking to make due with what he could get to survive, and you murdered him like a fucking brute. You killed him just like you constantly seem to want to stop others from killing. Because of you, I could starve. You probably have two bodies on your claws now. Maybe that thing from your hatching day should have killed you after all. You're a monster. If he had just ended you then, that cat would still be alive. I wouldn't be starving to death slowly because you scared away the one thing I can eat. Not everybody can live off of greens and carrion" He whispered, an inch from the side of the Ravens' head. His eyes bright with malice.

He stared blankly at the paw that's on his wing. Almost puzzled, at that grin but when the words have begun to utter allowed the pure shock to show. Oh fucking lovely... They know Hindsight too. He makes an inward note to use his also on them, only fair he never permitted to look into his memories. Still, the more words uttered, Albeon just seems to go into a mood swing of emotions.

The mention of the cat made him just be filled with the extreme guilt, even if it was somewhat of an accident since killing the cat wasn't their plan just make them back off of sorts. He still intends to repent; he still possesses the Gem of them that Albeon hopes to bring back some day he heard of some Spell that can do that. But the mention of that particular someone and how they should've killed him when he came to be, made him seethe with anger inwardly but managed to pertain his stoic look. Are they siding with Mosi? Like he's justified in any of the shit he has done, god-wannabe and all that! Honestly, he wasn't exactly even attacking this canine due to the deer it was more because he thought this canine was Mosi himself and wanted to taunt him since he never really got his payback on them. He tries to keep them around though, only fair for him to have some dirt too.

"Honestly, I more scared that deer off because I thought you were 'that thing' not because of that. But didn't mention that since the fact it's none of your business when I realised it wasn't Mosi. Besides, I already know I am a monster. 'That thing' or 'that bastard' is the real monster though nothing he has done is justified." He kept his words vague and hoped to save face somewhat despite the extreme self-hate he's feeling, he genuinely feels remorse, but he has no intention of sharing it with a stranger who’s just making assumptions based on a few of his memories. He knows what Hindsight is like besides didn’t even mention the Rebound Hindsight he had once in Polaris which showed the caves on fire by some black dragon killing Gembounds. Albeon may be squeamish about that stuff with hunting still a part of himself has accepted it now. Besides, if this canine was Mosi he didn't want to mention that he wants payback may give the delusional idiot the wrong idea, may keep this canine around to see if he can use his own Hindsight. Damnit though he wants to stop giving a damn about Mosi, it seems like Mosi genuinely has died he hasn't seen him anywhere.

Astaroth raised his brow with a smirk, seeing he had gotten under his skin. "I never said he was justified. I said that in your case, he should have finished what he started. Then there would be one less monster in this cave" he sneered. Pressing his claws into the birds flesh. "Or maybe I should finish it for him. Though I think, death isn't the worst option for you, I think I'll just let you simmer in your guilt until it destroys you. That cat was innocent, and you killed him with no mercy. I never did anything to you. And now I'm stuck starving." He flicked the bird to the side with a snort, limping around, looking for the scarf, curious where it went. He wanted it, if for nothing else to take as a trophy. He gave up after a bit and laid down to the side, licking his wounds as he watched the bird. The fur singed away from him revealed where his ribs pressed against his skin, and the tightness of his muscles.

Why must he still have a whirlwind of emotions? One less monster in the cave? And yet instead the one less monster was Mosi instead, which is beneficial he never would've changed. Finish it for him? Be nice, makes him be able to leave without annoyances like this canine. He is guilty of all the things he has done exceptionally the cat, but he's apathetic to the ones who seem to be masters in the art of assuming like this one. Just assumptions all of it.

When the canine pressed down, he took this chance to rear his magic to use Hindsight himself, if they're going to check his past he should do the same.

Ahhhh... Damn out of Magick. Oh well... At this point all things said and done there's nothing but apathy for this canine, doesn't even care to learn his name. He inwardly scoffed on how they're stuck starving... Oh please, he speaks like it was their only chance if they have all that energy to fight him after being blasted a bunch of times then he doubts they're that hungry there's plenty of cave deer.

When all said and done, while Albeon feels numb about all of this which usually associated with his guilt it's helping to not give the slightest damn about that canine after they left. Just worried about the scarf, he just casually takes off with his head held high as he goes to look for it. Not bothering to make eye contact with the canine once again they are just a random stranger to him yet, so their presence now is entirely unimportant and trivial, just a passerby. He made sure that his scarf was teleported in a good enough distance so it'll be safe and eventually found it where he remembered the slab of rock was.

He checked one thing on it first in the folds and was relieved to see that it was still there: a black onyx. This Gem was the Gem of the cat; he kept it with him to see if he can learn that spell that apparently can somewhat bring a dead Gem back and was another reason why he took such offence to his scarf getting stolen in case it got damaged from being carried like that. Another reason why he's so apathetic to the canine, for if he does revive the cat and it decides it does hate him for what he did he'd let them do whatever they want to him since they were the one who was killed by him; they have the right to if he can someday learn that Spell. Carefully he stashed the gem safely again and put the scarf back on, letting it flutter down again from behind him and it seems to have dried a bit. With that, all said and done... He takes off still, in hopes of learning that Spell the canine utterly invisible to him now for he had more pressing matters even if his body feels like hell right now.
