Li lashed her tail, but said nothing. So Kal wanted her to go first? Fine. She'll go first. She thought about using magic, almost completely forgetting her definitive vow earlier, but decided against it. Besides, relying on magic for the first move was never a good thing. She used to do it all the time when going against Imperia, and it rarely ever worked out. So she'd just go right in and attack.

Her gaze flickered to the cat's face, lingering on her single eye, before moving on. "No. I can't go after her eye. It won't be fair if she doesn't even have any. Besides, I'm not like Imperia." Her gaze moved onward, before she decided to just go for it. She'd have to hit somewhere. Unless the cat dodged like a coward. And she wouldn't be surprised if she did.

She crouched down low for a moment, preparing herself, before leaping forward, claws out, and teeth bared.

Kallista was crouched low, watching Li with a narrowed eye. Her tail tip continued to flick, and she waited for any sign the cat was about to make a move. When Li crouched down, she tensed, and when she leaped, she made her own move. She jumped to the side, but only barely made it. She felt a small nick in her shoulder as Li went by, and a small bit of blood began to trickle down. But it was definitely a lot better than what could have happened.

She turned to face Li, a small grin on her face. "Weren't expecting that, were you?"

Li growled as she skidded on the ground, having mostly missed her target. She quickly turned, tail lashing as she glared at Kal. "So you're going to dodge every attack like a coward? Is that what you did with Imperia? No wonder they ripped your eye out. I'd have done the same if you kept dodging!" She prepared to attack again, determined to at least injure her some! She leaped, eyes narrowed, claws out.

As Li spoke, Kal bristled. How dare she bring up the fight with Imperia? Growling, she resolved to stop dodging in this battle. If Li wanted her to actually fight, then fine. She'd fight. So as the hybrid leaped at her again, she prepared herself to leap as well, wanting to meet her midair. She jumped, and collided with Li, a bit later than planned. But it happened all the same. Now to just injure her some before they fell...

Li wasn't expecting that. When the two collided, she let out a yelp. She quickly focused back on the fight, however, and knew she had to take advantage of this moment. Scratching or biting her would be too hard. There is something she could do that would hurt her for sure...if it worked. At that moment, she wasn't even thinking about her decision just moments earlier, before she came across Kal. Now, she was just thinking about how best to hurt her opponent.

Just like Imperia taught her.

But as Li tried to draw her magic out, nothing happened, and she growled in frustration. They were falling fast, and she knew she wouldn't have another chance.

Kal heard Li yelp, and grinned briefly. She then waited for Li's attack while trying to figure out what she would do. But when nothing happened and Li growled, she took the chance. They were approaching the ground fast, and she had to make a quick decision. So she called upon her own magic, a certain spell in her head. It wouldn't injure her much, but it'd at least administer a small shock.

It worked just as they landed, with Kal managing to stay upright and pinning Li, just as the crackling electricity flared to life. At such a close proximity, parts of it got to Li.

Li grunted as they landed, but before she could recover, Kal's fur was sticking up and small points of electricity could be seen at the jumped around her fur. Before she could fully register this, she felt some of it go to her, shocking her slightly. It didn't hurt, but it was uncomfortable and she wanted it to stop.

She glared up at Kal, growling. It would be hard for her to use her front paws to attack, but maybe she could use her hind legs...

Kal knew what Li would do, and quickly jumped off before she could, not even giving Li a chance to do it. Her tail lashed as she glared at Li. "What was that about me being a coward?" By this point, she felt like the battle was just about over. She wasn't really sure what else to do.

She decided she'd just walk over to Li and declare this battle as over. There was nothing more that really needed to be done. It was all completely a pointless thing anyway. "Why are we still doing this? Come on, get up. This battle may as well be over."

Li watched as Kal got off, growling. She began to get up as well. Was she really just going to call this battle over? Ha! This battle wasn't over until she said it was over. And it wasn't over. She glared down at her, tail lashing. "This battle isn't over just 'cause you said it was. It's not over until I declare it over!" She walked closer, eyes narrowed and leaned in so they were almost touching noses. "And I don't declare it over." She tried to cast her magic again, and could feel heat in her chest. With that, she took a deep breath, and let it all out.

Kal should have expected this. It was clear Li wasn't ready to declare this battle over. She should have attacked or...something. But no. She tried to end this peacefully. And now she got a blast of heat in her face. It reminded her of her battle with Imperia, and the thought seemed to trigger something within her.

She jerked back, away from the flames. But burns lingered on her face, and she let out a yelp. The eye socket where her eye had once been began to ache, and she let out a whimper. In the pain she was feeling, she felt a surge of anger toward Li and glared at her before beginning to lash out, hoping to get her at least somewhat.
