Aeroth had been watching for a few moments with her jaw gaping as she watched the spider tumble to the ground and make a mad dash away just to be ambushed by all of the other gems. She yowled over the din of the other gems to try and get their attention, screaming so loud her throat felt like to split as she sprinted up, pawing and running into all those going after the spider trying to make them pause. "Stop you fools! What is wrong with all of you to be riven mad like you're rabid??!! CARNI????!!!!! FOR SHAME!!! I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE MY KING YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT A SAFE PLACE FOR THEM GEMS IN THE CAVES YET I CATCH YOU DOING THIS??? SAME FOR YOU XERXES!!!! This is a living creature just as all of us are!!! And you are attacking it like a beast!!! This is like to trying to kill a youngling right after it has hatched!!! Shame on all of you!!!" She quickly moved into a mocking tone, looking at Tukluk- " 'We're gonna kill your crystallized ass' " Switching back to her normal tone- "HOW ABOUT I RIP OUT YOUR PUNY LITTLE THROAT???!!! HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT??? YOU ARE ALL FUCKING SICK!!!"

“OOOOOOOOWWWWWW!” Tuck fell over backwards, curled into a ball and screeched in pain. His eyes squeezed shut and he held his head in his claws as an ache pounded through it like someone was using his head as a drum. At the same time, his bloodstone gem was searing, radiating pain down through shoulder, his arm, into his paw. Every time his heart beat, his head pounded, and another shock of pain stabbed through the right side of his body. He heard nothing but the roar of blood in his ears for a time, and then that receded into a ringing sound. Finally, when he could hear properly again, all he heard was the sound of shouting and… general chaos.

Except there was a loudness in there that wasn’t just a bunch of background noise. Someone was screaming. He pushed himself up again and looked around, trying to ignore the headache that got worse every time he moved his head. There… He found the culprit and followed her movements with his eyes. She was… mocking him? Mocking him? Actually, she was mocking everyone, and yelling about how no one should be attacking the giant, terrifying spider. Who the —

“Who the fuck do you think you are, lady?” he screamed right back at her. “We don’t have time for this shit! We’ve got a Cave to defend!” And out of a complete lack of emotional control and stupidity, mixed with the anger and adrenaline that comes with intense pain, Tuck attempted to send a spell her way…

As soon as he'd called for a stone-pusher, everything with horns (except him) was suddenly ramming the spider head-first. He took a moment to be bemused until suddenly the thing tipped, curled up, he felt a brief burst of victory and wary confusion before the world suddenly exploded around him.

He flipped a few times in the air, tumbling, but found his bearings a few feet from a no-return crash. He stroked his wings hard to regain altitude and take up the chase again, but then.... Aeroth.

Oh, if only she knew.

He opened his mouth to scold her, to correct her, but a little foul-mouth beat him to it, casting a flash of magic her way. Carni hesitated.

The spider was back on its feet again and rushing for the spire once more.

Aeroth had just been attacked by another gembound under his watch.

He decided to tackle both issues at once. He swept down towards @Tukluk and hovered above him, uncertainty keeping him from landing or grabbing the thing.

"You'd best hope that wasn't an offensive spell, half-pint!" The cat-bird yelled down. "If you've hurt one of mine, I won't stop the rest from seeking retribution! I'll deal with her confusion later, we need all arms!" He couldn't come up with anything to actually do about the situation, the sound of battle continuing behind him finally too much to bear. "Aeroth! If you won't defend these caves, go home!"

He didn't sound impressed. That harsh tone turned against a friend wasn't typical. Pearly eyes glared with stern reasoning, though; she wasn't wrong, just misplaced. He'd correct his younger friend later. Right now, the spider...

Carni snapped his wings in frustration as he returned to the hot zone, avoiding another flier blindly as he went and sweeping over the spider proper oncer more, mind racing for a better solution.

Amras

Amras let out a loud screech as he felt a massive wave of energy erupt from the target behind him hit him and send him flying toward the ceiling, leaving the others far behind. Once again his light weight and comparatively huge surface area was working against his favor.

Once his senses came back to him enough to react the gryphon was well out of earshot of the crowd and the spider was on the move again. At this rate they would never stop it... Their only hope for salvation was the chance that the spider was only interested in eating a portion of the spire, or that it would take long enough to feast that they could stop it then. Breaking a parasite off the spire would pose its own problems, most notably the likelihood of damaging the structure in the process, but the time of relatively easy solutions had passed.

The royal blue gryphon adjusted his wings to dive back down and hopefully catch up with the creature. The others might have given up and started in-fighting but he didn't have the luxury of taking time to try to rally their forces. Catch and kill the entity now or face probable death of all they knew.

Sheèd no time to recover. The moment she thought she was in the clear, the spider tipped and sent out a blast of magicka so powerful it knocked Remedy clean to the ground. By compulsion, she lay perfectly still for a few moments, her heart beat slowing for that briefest moment as her body worked to re-establish a sound connection with the brain.

Ears ringing and stomach twisting, she finally managed to bring herself upright again. The spider was already moving but Remedy reached out to her twin instead, immediately concerned that Cure had suffered the backlash with her. Are you okay? Eyes found the leopard cross moments after their link did. The hybrid gryphon moved to stand...

...but with buckling legs, she managed only to raise herself to her haunches. Wings slack on either side, it would appear miss Remedy was down for the count.

The pulse hit Aries like a charging elephant. It flung him back like a rag doll, bashing him against a jutting stalagmite with a harsh thud. Pain racked through his bones as he laid there, dazed. Aries lifted his head and groaned. The stone spider had now gotten to its legs, and it was making its way to the Spire.

No...

He grimaced as he forced his sore muscles to work. His shifted his forelegs, fighting to stand up. They trembled underneath his weight as he went to collect his back legs. Suddenly, a sharp pain struck his spine. The ram winced in agony and slumped back down against the stalagmite. Something was wrong with his back. It must have took the brunt of the force. Pain was nothing his gem couldn't handle, but with the bloodstone throbbing with magick, he did not know how long it would take. Aries could only watch helplessly as the eight-legged Titan closed in on the Spire while a few of his fellow Gembound argued in the distant. He dreaded to think of what might happened if reached it.

Aeroth looked at the small monkey-creature just in time to see a bright flash of light, searing pain pain pain. She screamed over everything as tears started to stream down her face, she couldn't see.. she couldn't see.. her vision was still there but everything was so dark, her eyes wouldn't focus as she tried to scramble to her feet unsuccessfully. "Bugger you ya' wristy bogan!!! You'll pay for that!!!" She blinked away her tears waiting for her vision to clear ever s slightly before finding the small creature amidst the blurs, her eyes dilated fully as her jaw hung open, growling and slavering, she started advancing on the little primate.

"Speech." With the wave of magicka that pulsed throughout the area, Kallista fell over. With a groan, she began to try and get up. It didn't take much effort, and she decided she somehow didn't get as much of the blast. She quickly shook off the feeling and looked around. It seemed like some others were struggling to get up. She turned and realized the spider was once more heading toward the spire. Growling, she raced after it. "Oh, no you don't!" She didn't pay attention to anything else, focused solely on the spider and making sure it didn't reach the spire.

Because of her smaller size and lighter weight, Felina was thrown backwards a few feet more than the rest of the Gembounds. Unsheathed claws dug into the cave floor. Her momentum was slowed just enough for her bruised and pain-wracked body to stop just a fraction of an inch from a wall.

She groaned until her head stopped spinning. By then, the pain was more bearable. She saw the rest of Gembounds also slowly recovering from...whatever the huge spider hit her and the others with.

Felina limped closer the the gathered Gembounds, but still maintained a proper distance as etiquette required. "Is everyone OK?", she asked, concern in her voice for each and every Gembound in the area. Then, she looked at Aeroth first: "You're right, my lady. I, at least, was wrong to attack that gigantic spider."

"My lord Carni, I wish to correct my mistake. Maybe I should try following that creature as stealthily as I can. I saw it advancing on The Spire. With your permission, may I try to see if it will do something...if anything...when it reaches The Spire?"

Albeon kept his powers up, doing everything he can to make the spider topple over and fall until it finally did. He felt so proud of how well he's doing in this, smirking smugly. But then a massive shockwave of power surged from the spider and quickly swooped through Polaris plenary, the formidable force of it as it hits Albeon flings him back, and his back crashed into a wall the wind knocked out of him. He tries his best to ignore the pain as he sees in shock that it's back up and moving to the Spire at an incredible velocity. But the corvid couldn't help but let out some hisses of pain as the pain on his back heightened when he tried to take to the air again making him unable to take off again. Breathing heavily in some hopes to get air back in his lungs even if it did hurt.

Hearing the yells for them to stop makes him look what's going on, and sees a feline yelling in utter disgust of their actions which seemed to make something click in Albeon as he felt a pain of guilt and somewhat question his actions. You dumbass, to attack something out of impulse and to show off as always! He considers what they say; still, it may not end well if it reaches the Spire. But he doesn't know this thing's motives. He decides to hold off its charge to the Spire in hopes of possibly seeing what exactly it intends to do to it.

He tries to fly towards it again, but with the spider's last attack it felt like he was carrying a large boulder on his back making his flight slower than usual, but he tries his best to keep up. Sadly his altitude drops as his flight slows, and so he quickly works to use his Spell right now but unfortunately to no avail as he just couldn't concentrate, all his focus is on making sure he doesn't immediately drop to the ground.
