PURPOSE:

Sick of stumbling through the darkness, the guardians of light aim to supply the caves with lights created through the use of their magic like bauble, emerge and fungal wake to either make rocks and stone into light or raise flora and fungi that supply bioluminescent light. The purpose for this is so that them and other gembounds can see where they are going in times where the generator fails to supply light.

With backup lights in place, their next goal is to turn the lights back on in the caves and ensure that they stay on by any means possible, making sure that the caves are not plunged into complete darkness again. If they are, it is their duty to turn them back on as soon as possible.

Their ranks are not limited to light-makers alone. It is necessary for them to travel alongside guardians who can fight and protect them should they come into danger, if it be from hostile gembounds or completely unknown entities such as the Eyes.

LOCATION:

The Guardians' territory is mostly contained to Polaris and the tunnels around it-- most commonly tunnel N --for the simple reason of keeping an eye on the generator to ensure that the orbs of light will remain working.

Their hearts are not truly contained in one mere location, however. They frequently travel the caves to check that everything is in working order, supplying extra lights, and generally helping others out. They only return to their own territory for meetings and planned events.

INTERACTIONS:

Aggression and hostility is generally frowned upon among this group. They are travellers and must, at the very least, remain tolerant of other gembounds. If arguments and fights break out, if they are within ranks or with others, it is generally encouraged to be taken elsewhere, where the reputation of the group as a whole will not be affected.

RANKS:

LEADER: Kera
Responsible for the group and looking after them, the role of a leader mostly speaks for itself. It should not, in any circumstance, be taken by a fat wolf puppy with a hero complex.

TRUSTED: n/a
Probably more appropriately named as a 'right hand,' though Kera probably doesn't know what the hell a hand is. This rank is for someone who can be, well, trusted-- to lead when the leader cannot, to offer advice, and one day become the leader should something happen to the last one. Hopefully that something is not cold-blooded murder.

LIGHT-MARKERS: Rift, Giggle, Alan, Aztec, Kielo, Oliver
The main purpose for the Guardians of Light is to create light. The light-makers do just that. It does not entirely matter how they do this-- if it be through actual light-magic or otherwise --because every little helps.

GUARDIANS: Xireidi
Although they may not be able to create light, the guardians are still half of the name. Sworn to protect both their comrades and the lights, these guardians are generally fierce and loyal.

While he cannot create light, Xireidi would be more than willing to help protect a light based group! In his younger days he had a belief (for complicated reasons) that a creature of shadow and flame would one day descend upon the inhabitants of the cave and trained himself to become a defender of life. At this point he's pretty much figured that was a childhood fancy at this point and the cave probably doesn't need a champion to stand against against an eldritch horror, but defender of the light would sound like a pretty nice replacement job.

That and he's currently trying to figure out a way to get the lights on and make them stay on this time :P

I could reactivate Oliver for this, or even join on Giggle potentially. She's definitely spreading the lights in Canis at the very least, terrified of the dark, and her Future Shift visions long ago warned her of the return of the dark, so it could fit.

Either way they will always have Giggle's aid should they need it.

Alan would be very happy to make some lights (but he doesn't know bauble just yet, only glow (but he can learn bauble! He likes light!)) and make some friends and help the caves.

Dude Aztec was literally born for this! He just needs to learn bauble, until then he can be a little babby night light! XD

xireidi is very very welcome has a protector/guardian though, once kera is an actual adult she'll be a nice stocky wolf who will be able to do the same

she's also gonna start learning some actual light spells and she'll try to teach anyone she can find so that EVERYONE CAN SPREAD LIGHT but it's not 100% a super necessary thing
