calliope was new here, and unsure of exactly where she was or what she was doing, it was only natural that she was curious and willing to explore every nook and cranny. something about this cave in particular was drawing her in. perhaps it was the damp moss and traipsing vines, or maybe the earthen smells of petrichor and rain, or maybe it was the humongous, silver-capped fungus that stood tall in the very center of the cavern.
she marched up to the mushroom apprehensively, staring up into its frills and losing herself. shaking herself from this trance, she remembered what that wolf had told her- she was looking for stones of a certain color to bring to a bird. what color were they again...? gold, right? she couldn't quite remember, but searched around anyway.
digging up the ground around her, she spotted a faint glimmer in the dirt. on closer inspection, it was a tiny, yellow stone- which, in all honesty, she wasn't sure what to do with.
