ORIGIN

Reseda stared at the deep one, watching for its mouth to move. But as its voice spoke, its eyes glowed pink and there was no movement. There was a small fluttering inside of her as she realized what this magic could do. An army behind her, or her voice in the shadows. She could confuse, she could scare, she could dominate with just this simple spell. She smiled coldly at this and focused on the magic itself.

She focused on a point just behind the deep one. Her voice would speak as if she stood just behind it. Doing as the deep one had instructed her, she thought of the words and let them flow. The gems around her eye grew hot again as the magic inside her reacted. But this time, it twisted into something else. Something deeper then her native magic, more ominous and more...eternal. The words flowed from her as a small glimmer of pink flashed across her black eyes.

Her voice, dark and sinister, whispered from just behind the wolf, "I'm behind you."

Reseda smirked arrogantly. She was a little disappointed that the deep one hadn't been surprised by the voice behind it, but she hadn't really expected anything. She could tell that intimidation would never work on this creature. Instead, she decided to comply with it. Between staying alone in the caves, fighting, or complying, the latter was definitely the best.

So she focused again, this time on all four directions, around them in a square. This was a little harder and more concentration went into it. The gems were burning now, but she could feel the magic swirling within them. Her left eye clouded over as the magic pulsed around it. There was a flash of pink in them as the magic was released. From four spots around them, a little quieter then the last time, but loud enough to be effective, whispered her voice. "I'm here."

Reseda glared up at the deep one, her eyes sparkling. She had felt empty since her birth, surrounded by fools and the sightless. They were empty, useless things. But the deep one, it was different. It had use and it spoke words that resonated within her. The words that she saw herself speaking to another dark hearted one in her future. She did not have to care about the deep one, but she did value its power and the evil following its every move. She wanted the fear it expected and carried in its wake. She wanted to see the world from its side.

She smiled coldly. "Yes," she hissed, "I will help you take over this kingdom. I will help you spread fear into the hearts of the fools that plague the caves. And I will grow my power so that no one will oppose us." It was partly true, but she felt no loyalty to the deep one. Only to power and fear. And this creature was the path to claiming what she wanted.
