Sizzle

Sizzle looked downwards, downcast. How could fungus be useful? It didn't seem terribly appetizing to her, but she had a feeling they could serve as food to someone else. Not Winter, of course, she looked like she wouldn't eat fungi either. And it wouldn't exactly work to try and fight with them; what would she do, shove it down their throats and wait for them to choke?

"Glowing mushrooms?" she echoed dubiously. That sounded odd but, if they were a thing, and the cave lights went out (the lights could go out?), then they could prove to be a source of light. "I suppose so."

She bent down to sniff at the mushrooms she'd made, wondering what they were. Were the edible? Were the poisonous? Could they heal? Did they glow in the dark?

"I'm speaking..."
'I'm thinking...'

Winter was happy that they didn't seem to press on the offensive matter. She didn't want to imagine what kind of horrible things could be done with fungal magic. They seemed harmless, but, now that she thought about it, there was definitely potential for disaster.

She watched Sizzle observe the mushrooms and thought about the uses. She couldn't remember if she had known anyone that used fungal magic. But then she wondered if it was even conscious she looked back at Sizzle and asked, "Do you even know you're doing it? Or can you not control it?"

Sizzle

Sizzle hissed quietly, looking down at her fungus. These were... rather neat, and she found she liked the idea of making something. Even if it was just this fungi. She leaned down, burnt-orange nose sniffing at the fungi. It smelled familiar, as though she'd known it for a long time, despite being only a hatchling.

She tilted her head at the other's question, before furrowing her brow, focusing. Fungi began to blossom from the ground, and she looked back up at Winter. "It looks like I can control it."

"I'm speaking..."
'I'm thinking...'

Winter nodded. That was good. She could control her magic, and she seemed pretty proficient in it. Unfortunately, Winter knew she couldn't really help. She wasn't too good with magic and had never tried to get good at it. Perhaps it would be best to let this youngling explore and find their own path. "Well, I'm happy that you hatched okay and that you seem well. What do you think you're going to do next?"

She wondered if, when the snake left, they would ever meet again? It was always an experience to meet another of her kind. She was happy that there was at least another like her in the caves and that she had met her. She was especially happy they weren't like how everyone seemed to view snakes.

When the snake didn't respond, Winter realized that it was probably her time to go. She gave the thing a small nod and reached forward to give it a small bump with her nose. "Well, wherever you go, I wish you luck! I hope I see your around."

She then turned around and headed off, wondering if they would, in fact, meet again.
