Blackberry thought she had it. She knew she had it. But when her wing connected to the hard green gem, pain shot up in her limb as she cougar was sent reeling, his ear still completely intact, without a single scratch. And she was left with a throbbing wing. However, even if her attack hadn't done any physical damage, there was obviously something else going on.
But then the roots of the trees started coming out of the ground and fear laced her heart. So he could move them after all. However, when they made no move to come after her, she simply laughed, her voice a loud honk.
"Coward! Loser and fool! You will never defeat me and you will never save your precious plants! You can't stop me, no one can stop me! I am Blackberry, the Terror of the Caves! Remember my name, remember me! No one can stand against me! Not you, not the wolf, not even the snake!"
She cackled loudly, her voice hysterical and almost a scream. She was losing control. The blood, the blood flowing, hers or his? It didn't matter, it was blood. Blood she brought, blood she wrought, blood she fought. She'd bring it again. Surely now? When? Where? Who? Who's blood? Who's blood? WHO'S BLOOD?!
She screamed again, her vision blurry, almost double. There was blood everywhere. The trees, the vines, the grass, her body, the cougar, the roots, the air, the walls, the ending sky.
And then she was flying, flying towards the finite sky, towards the ceiling, and then away, all the while cackling and screaming and honking, her glimmering red wings soon blinking into nothingness.
