It had only been a little while since Amaria had came to be within the Cave. Still she didn't know what it was called, but Amaria didn't figured it really mattered all that much at this current time. She had not been alone when she awoke. Her big brother Leon had came tumbling down to her rescue and soon followed her Big Sis Makyna had bounded her way down as well. It had been then that they had guided her to where they lived.
A broad grin grasped onto the little cub's features as she made her way through the moss and ferns. This place was gorgeous. Way more pretty than the riverbed she had been born in. Not that it was a riverbed anymore! Now water rushed through it like she assumed it was meant to. When it happened, or how it had happened, but regardless of any of that Amaria was fine with it. It was when the water had rushed through the riverbed that the caves she was born into had become much brighter. In most places anyways. There were still a few nooks and crannies she would find herself in that were still shrouded in darkness.
A rumbling in her stomach quickly drew Amaria's attention. At first she was confused by the sensation. So confused in fact she had drew her wandering paws to a halt and craned her head down to look between her front legs down at her tummy. It was a strange sensation. An unpleasant one. She looked about after she frowned over the idea of it. Hunger. She was still fresh, so the sensation was still relatively new to her. Alas, her predicament seemed to be worse off than it should have been. She hadn't a clue on how to even find something to eat. What was there to eat around here?
Her pondering mind took pause as her blue eyes settled upon the large thing just feet away from her. Her mouth seemed to fall open as her eyes grew wide. It was huge. It easily made the kitten feel like an ant standing under a tree root. Her curiosity struck hard and the once pangs of hunger were dismissed as she now headed for the Monarch. "I wonder if Maky has seen this before..." She awed aloud, mostly to herself unaware if someone else may be around at the time.
It almost reminded her of a tree. Trees were climbable! But it was so tall. No worries! Amaria's rump wiggled as she was now determined to try. She took her first leap at the base of the Mushroom, easily gripping the thing with her claws and slowly she began to pull herself upwards. Her ascent was going well. So well in fact Amaria decided she would look below her to see how far she had gotten. It was a wrong choice to make.
Her heart slammed against her chest as she saw how high she had gotten from the ground. Fear quickly crept up along her spine and her fur began to bristle up in response. No. This wasn't something she could do. What if she fell? With a nervous gulp, the clouded leopard cub decided it was not the wisest decision to climb up such a super tall structure. Quickly, yet very slowly, Amaria eased herself back down. Eager to get her paws back on the ground again. Maybe she would just go find something to eat instead. Like a mouse. She could just vaguely remember Makyna having said something about a mouse. Whatever that was.
