ORIGIN - will you accept me into this world?

Sitting in a chrysalis all day was soooooo boring. The small snake couldn't stand it much longer.
Uncurling his body, the snake pushed his body against the black rock, disturbing his peaceful home. At first he really just succeeded in rolling the chrysalis over and rolling it across the floor. It irritated the small snake,
but honestly, he couldn't be angry. It was his own fault anyway.

Soon enough, he hit a rock and the chrysalis opened, letting the little slithery boy out. The little Formosan swung his head around, blinking and adjusting to the light. His little forked tongue poked out as he tasted the air.

"Wow, this place ish great. Polarish? Yeah. Thish ish Polarish, and I am Elwood. Elwwod Tex. Hi there world." Elwood lisped, smiling as he slithered away from his broken chrysalis. Looking around, Elwood' mouth opened.
This place was gorgeous. The colorful lights made his insides tingle, and the small snake felt jittery.

"Thish place ish amazing. I never want to leave. Sho pretty." He giggled cutely, his small body shaking with excitement.

vaessa kindness is not weakness

Vaessa had been roaming around the great hall that was Polaris (though making sure to stay safely away from the Spire) when she heard a familiar sound.
Someone was breaking out of their Chrysalis!

She followed the sounds echoed and came upon a snake, who'd apparently been talking to himself when she reached him. Since Vaessa herself was still so young and small, she barely needed to lean down to get a close look at the new Gembound. "Hallo Elwood!" The puppy greeted happily, flashing the snake a bright smile. She'd found someone who was younger than her! All her friends were older but maybe she could become Elwood's friend, like Kielo had become her's.

"My name is Vaessa." Still grinning, she laid down on her stomach and settled her head atop her front paws (the light from above catching in her gem-claws and reflecting it in dancing shades of orange and red) and watching the snake curiously. "Do you want to be my friend? She asked him. The thought that he'd just been born and that maybe asking him right away if he wanted to be friends was a little too forward didn't occur to her. Having friends was nice! It made her feel good to be with her friends and make new friends - she wanted Elwood to experience that too!

Elwood was busy looking at the pretty, pretty lights of Polaris when he heard a voice. How did the creature know his name?! She must've heard him deciding his name. Grinning shyly, Elwood responded to the larger Gemling's queries.

"H-hi Vaessshhhaaa. Vassha. Vaessha. Shorry. I have a lishp. Um." Elwood apologized, his face heating up. Even though no one could see it, Elwood was blushing like a madman. He didn't think names would be hard. But apparently, they were. "Shure. Let'sh be friendsh."

The small snake rose up on his small body to try and meet the Shiba Inu's eye. Oh wow, he was sooo tiny. Elwood thought he would be normal, but nope. Judging by this Gemling's size, he was very tiny indeed.

Vaessa smiled at the Snake trying to say her name - not because she laughed about him, really, but because it just sounded endearing that they tried so hard despite their lisp. "It's okay, Elwood. You can call me Vee, is that easier for you?" She asked, cocking her head to the side and watching as Elwood moved around in front of her.

"Yay, friends!" The puppy cheered, raising her bum and wagging her tail excitedly, front paws still on the ground. She wanted to play with Elwood but their size difference was not to underestimate and the other Gemling had just been born, too.
"What do you want to do?" Vaessa asked her new friend. "We could explore, if you want to." She liked exploring. It made her feel like an adventurer, as if she unearthed secrets that none had seen before her.
Which was unlikely and she knew that but she could play pretend very well.

Elwood grinned. Vee seemed much easier to say than Vaessa. Too much 's' in that name for him to say it right. El watched as the puppy in front of him raised her butt in the air and waggled it around. It looked so funny that the little snake giggled, his tiny forked tongue poking out.

The little Shiba Inu continued to speak, asking what he wanted to do. Elwood thought for a moment. What did he want to do? Play? How do snakes play? Explore? Yeah! That sounded good. "Shure. Exploring sounds fun." Elwood agreed, lowering himself down.

"Where to firsht?"
