Reseda's directionless plan, the last hope that she would get this strong young thing to join her shattered in that instant. She snapped back to reality, back from her emotionless drawl and realized how stupid she had been. She had been the ones to call others fools but now she was being the fool. This is what she got when she put down her masks. When she let go of every bit of her facade. No, she needed this thing. She knew that it would be useful. It was Pride and it would be perfect.
She let the silence for a few seconds before she spoke.

He listened, and watched, equally empty of any emotion bar a faint impatience, a boredom. She was in his way again--and casting magic, he realized. He glanced up, ready to act, but as impressive as it was it petered out without causing harm. Well-controlled, then.
For a moment he focused as well, trying to summon up something similar--but nothing came, and after a brief pause in which he watched Reseda, considering, he dipped his head in acknowledgement. His magic would require training and refining, and the komodo seemed skilled, at least, at this.
"Then teach me," he said aloud, young voice musically tinkling. "Show me, and I agree to meet... the others." He hoped he'd gotten his words right; he thought so. The mind link had been useful, he had to admit, in its own way.
He turned back, ears flattening back, and spoke again with stilted, if melodic, words. "It is not--far? I am... weary."
Pride paced after her, considering. He knew instinctively that Reseda would be difficult to handle, but perhaps some of the others, less so? Easier to deal with? He had no desire to take them over--Reseda alone he held zero interest in calling any minion of his, were he some mighty prince. He wished beauty, perfection, and Reseda's mind, from what he had seen, was ugly.
But order; there was something. He had not seen anything particularly wrong with Giggle or her bones--but order against chaos, crystalline beauty against the scattered bones--that much he could appreciate. "Others may have... plan. But order, over chaos, is a... start." The words came only with difficulty, and Pride then slipped into silence, feeling no need to fill it with further empty chatter.

Finally, she had done something right. This was getting extremely annoying, dancing around this strange little creature that, despite all her attempts and despite all the reading of the mind, she just could not understand.
She nodded, deciding that she had to put herself under it, for now, while she gathered the Sins together. She had a lot to learn.
Knowing that any further communication with Pride would only make things worse, she cut off the link.
She turned towards the fortress and led pride to the chambers that she called her home where they would find a few decent piles of scrap bedding, a small pool with some grass, if Pride wished to graze, and, of course, Reseda's bones. Hopefully, this meeting that Pride wished to plan, and that she wished to see happen well, would be met with success and not the failure she had witnessed today.
