Children of Rot is a reclusive group of Gembound hidden away in the depths of Cetus. From the darkness of its swamp, they send members to seek the secrets of the cave. Under the leadership of the alligator Dragon they espouse the concept of survival through knowledge, and embrace Aquarian's promise of protection in return for serving him (hunting food for him).
Members are organized by Maw (its speakers), Claw (its guardians), and Eyes (its knowledge-seekers). There are no age or species requirements: only a willingness to look for the meaning in every carving, to spy on the elder Masters and their goals, to seek memories in stone and magic to uncover the history of the cave--in order to better discern, and plan for, its future.
Children of Rot is at least in part defined by its distrust of Origin's "masters" (NPCs) after the realization that they must serve other, unknown goals. It is also, therefore, defined by its hidden, esoteric nature and desire to conduct all searches, and spread its word to other Gembound, in a very secretive fashion.

Members of Children of Rot have access to the Group-Specific Spell Revitalizing Rot: "When cast, wounded flesh rapidly decays and rots away, to be replaced by swiftly-regrown tissue. Very painful, and can leave severe scar tissue."
