Rift ran through the forest, undergrowth brushing against his hide, his whiskers twitching as he constantly sniffed out the remnants of the plague. There! A bush, slathered with mucus from the dead horse's hide. It had taken its toll on the plant - withered and blackened. He sighed. A terrible sight and he wondered if it was even possible to save at this point. Possibly not, but he knew not how to destroy plants yet besides pulling them from the ground and burying them, which risked the plague spreading to the roots of the other plants nearby. Either way, he had to get the plague away.

He took a deep breath in and, upon exhale, opened his jaws and sprayed a fountin of high-powered water at the plants. The dripping mucus was washed away into a puddle on the ground, which Rift immediately covered with dirt and grass. As for the withered plant, once he had cleaned the base, he leaned forward and nipped it at the stem, careful to only touch it with his teeth and threw it into the pile, throwing more dirt on top, patting it down forcefully so that it was completely covered.

Once the dirt was firmly patted down, enough so that it was barely a mound above the ground, he set to work covering the broken stem and root. It would heal naturally, or die and shrivel to be replaced with new life. He would help it on its way, but he didn't have the magicka to spare. Once it was properly concealed, he turned back to the mound and touched a paw gently on the top. He sent cleansing magic into the earth, not strong, but enough to get the plague cleaned from the area, and also the bits that had stuck to his teeth. Once it was properly cleaned, he turned towards the rest of the path and set off again, sniffing for more disease clinging to the plants.
