The strange centaur had ignored the spider, for the most part, since it seemed to be speaking nonsense. When it asked about the rewards, she only muttered, "A reward."

Now she remained staring out toward Polaris, and its Spire--too far to see, but so near in her fierce thoughts--as the others gathered her what she had requested. She'd Finally, she turned. First she inspected the odd crystals, touching and listening to them; yes. Perhaps, with testing, they could help her in uncovering the Spire's secrets.

At length Jupiter looked at those gathered, at last giving them her attention. She lifted translucent fingers, slipping them over her collection of arrows: touching the gems. There was the faintest temptation to draw and fire... but no. They had been useful, and might be so again. Instead she reached down, snapping a piece off a singing crystal and starting to carefully form it into a new arrowhead as she spoke.

"You brought me what I have asked for, and now you'll get your rewards." The words were clipped and brisk. A few moments' work, and she had formed a makeshift arrow, of sorts. This "gift" would be simple, but hopefully it would be enough to please these creatures. "Now watch closely." She could already tell some of what was causing these crystals to sing, and as she fired this new, singing arrow off into the cave wall, it grew discordant: its humming melody vibrated through the tunnels.

It grew louder, and louder, resonating with the rest of them throughout the cave--and then they all fell silent. But those present could feel it thrumming through their own gem... and it wouldn't be too hard, now, to replicate this resonance. To make their gems sing.

Without another word, Jupiter picked up the crystals and left. Whether they were pleased, or not, did not concern her. She had given them their reward... and she had work to do.

The bobcat followed the others in delivering her crystal. The feline slinked low to the ground and edged past the others to drop the crystal she carried with the others. As soon as it was dropped, she moved away from the others. Having so many in one space made her anxious. No more, though, than the centaur like creature did. There was something about the way she carried herself that sent alarm bells ringing in head. This concern was almost proven accurate as the creature lifted and strung one of the arrows. Selena, always looking for any hint of danger, could tell the faint temptation the centaur had. The way she looked at the gathered group, they were like pests to her. Nothing more than the cave rats that roamed everywhere. Selena tensed her legs, ready to run at any moment. Fortunately, the centaur struck the wall instead of the group. The bobcat released a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. Her neck where her prehnite star of store laid began to lightly itch. The feeling shifting, becoming something hard for her to describe. It was like an itch of sound instead of tactile sensation. Then that too settled. Seeing that the interaction was finished, that the centaur’s interest in them had finished, Selena gave a brisk nod and turned around. She didn’t quite run away. It was, however, a brisk trot. That was enough social interaction for now. She noticed Faelan, the lion whom she had discovered her crystal with, and gave him a brief nod of greeting in passing. Enka was surprised by the number that had gathered about the centaur; most of which she had never seen before. It was a curious variety of beings. For a moment she wondered about each of them; their stories, their lives, their desires. So many potential friends if they so desired. Unfortunately, now was not the time to do so. There was a job to be done first with the singing crystals. Crystals which sang loudly now that so many had been gathered together, each a slightly different frequency to make a chorus that echoed down the tunnels.

The job was soon completed. The stranger took an arrow and shot it towards the wall in a very curious manner. Almost instantly her own horn shimmered for just a moment as the new magic took hold. The shimmer of the creamy parts of the moss agate lasted only a few minutes but she knew that there were some effects done to her horn. Some new magic now rested in her body. The springbok was practiced in magic enough to know that much, though not what type of magic it was. She’d have to experiment with that to find out. The flap of skin and fur along her rump lifted in her excitement at the new discovery.

She was curious but the creature and the others gathered, but it was clear that interests were shifting. The interaction now completed, the others were slowly moving along to their own individual plans and schedules. The small antelope hoped that she would see some of them again at another point. But she too had things to work on. After all, she was trying to figure out the ideal location of a garden in Eridanus. It was a simple, almost silly task for some but she gave it the upmost priority. So with a nod and a soft “thank you” and “farewell” to those gathered, Enka turned and made her way back to Eridanus and the task at hand.
