Pride nodded quietly as he listened, and then gave Envy a respectful little tilt of his head. It wasn't entirely clear if this was merely the necessary gesture of peasant to king, or if it were instead the genuine respect of an equal. The half-blind deer gave nothing away on his face, and his gaze itself was shrouded by that milky sheen.

"Do I come with you, then? Or would you like me to remain here, to guard your..." Pride shifted his attention, turning to peer at Lust, then back to Envy with a faint cock of his head. He wasn't sure what to call the bird, really. "...Companion?" he decided on, at last.

A patient flick of his tail and then he stood there, in no rush to be darting off for vengeance or the like. These things took time, and effort--he knew this with an instinctive wisdom despite his young age. Simply charging headfirst at Blackberry would simply have the fool goose flying away again.

No; he had to do this right--and that meant letting Envy take as long as they needed, and to allow them to tackle it however they saw fit.

Pride was curious, too, to see just how the little weasel would go about it. Perhaps it might reveal something more of their inner nature.

@Lust

Envy followed Pride's gaze towards Lust's nest. They paused for a second, considering all the nuances. They'd made careful note of the way little Lust looked at Pride, and it made their insides burn. they were the king here! But ultimately, Pride- the enormous white deer that he was- and blind to boot- would be too difficult to hide from their target. They'd need to practice first, and then figure out a good way to smuggle the deer in close. "Yeah!"

Their tail whipped excitedly at the prospect. "I'll come back for you when I've got it all figured out. Try not to have too much fun without me. And keep your snout out of my den, okay?" they motioned to their home-crack n the wall. Not that Pride's snout would even fit- the lucky f... Envy shook their head hastily to quell the flow of bitterness. "I'll be back when I have everything I need!"

And with that, Envy turned tail and fled, bounding towards the familiar route of tunnel N.

-Exit Envy-

"Speech."

@Pride

Pride listened, exhaling; he really didn't want to be tied down here, but duty called. When the weasel bounded off, he shifted himself around to face Lust once more. With delicate steps he approached, peering, trying better to see the near-stranger.

"So you are one of those," he said, softly and flutingly, "found by Reseda?" He lowered himself on folding limbs to lie nearby, peering at the bird; he blinked pale eyes languidly.

"Were you told what 'Lust' means? I do not think it fair that you carry the name and be unaware, if you are."

Really, who'd name a newly-hatched gembound after something so-... so crass? He eyed the bird as best he could, concerned that it would bear this title without a clue as to the implications.

For a good few minutes he waited--and then, he realized, he was talking to himself. The bird had scuttled into its nest, and was no longer responding.

With a quietly irritated huff he turned and left; let it stick with its wretched name, then. Poor, ignorant beast.
