She almost passed it up.
But the shine was caught at just the right moment, and the she-wolf came to a stop, tilting her head curiously. What had that been?
Not wanting to risk harming herself (again) with the blade, she set it down carefully, before approaching the glint.
More careful this time, she nudged the thing with her nose, knocking some of the dirt off. This didn't seem to be so sharp, instead two curves coming to a point. She took it between her teeth, and raised it, dumping off the dirt.
There was what seemed to be an old piece of.... well, she didn't know the word, but one could call it leather, on the back. So with some fiddling, she was able to slide it over her muzzle, resting the shield atop her head. Then, with the dagger carefully picked back up, she turned about and left the cave.
