The cub's calm eyes followed the hybrid as she moved, her eyes wide and some tenseness still in her form. His ears twitched, and his tail tapped lazily on the ground.

He couldn't understand what had made her so worried. All he had done was hatch, after all. Hatch, and address her. Nothing he had done was worth alarm.

She asked how he was so calm, and he tilted his head. "Why shouldn't I be? I see no reason to be frightened. Do you?"

Lyra stared at him, confused. Of course there was reason to be scared! There were probably all kinds of diseases in the air, all kinds of predators around, poisonous frogs, venomous snakes, perhaps even this little cheetah was hiding some kind of hidden potential. But none of that seemed to bother Reign for some reason.

Her ears went back a little bit as she dropped her head bashfully. "W-well, yeah. The world is dangerous! My parents told me that." Her long feathered tail swished against the ground as she thought of all the terrible scars covering her mother's body. "All kinds of terrible creatures. I mean, I'm bigger then you. Why aren't you scared of me?"

The Cheetah listened to the hybrid's ramblings, completely unbothered. By drawing breath, he had been brought into these caves. He had been brought into this dangerous world. It was a fact, one that could not be changed.

"So this world is dangerous. And? That is merely a hazard of living. If one lives their whole life in terror, can that really be living?" her question made him tilt his head the other way. "Why should I fear thee? Thou have given me no reason to fear thee."

Lyra listened to the cat with large eyes. He was so young but he seemed so wise! She wondered if he mother had been born with so much wisdom. She often taught her a lot of stuff about the world and the caves and Lyra wondered if it was something she had always known. If Winter had known all of that, though, then why didn't she?

Her peacock tail swished slowly across the ground at the question. "But I'm bigger! And I-I have big claws and sharp teeth," she pushed forward her scaled legs and bared her teeth to show them off. "Big things are scary! You must be brave...or I must looke pathetic..." she trailed off a little bit and wondered if she looked like her other parent, Kielo. There was nothing scary about them, nothing at all. Perhaps that was why Reign wasn't scared.

The king cheetah observed the hybrid curiously. What had made her so nervous? Had she experience something that he was not aware of? But, no, she just seemed to be very wary.

He tilted his head as she bared her teeth, showing off her claws. "So? Thou have not used them on mineself, nor have thou threatened me with harm. Why should I fear thou?"

However, he shook his head when she called herself pathetic, and spoke up, "Some are merely more wary than others. It serves them well, can keep them alive. It makes no one pathetic." his tone was slightly chastising, and his tail tapped.

Lyra nodded slowly, thinking. She had always been a little bit terrified of everything - from the moment she was born, she had struggled with confidence. But this cheetah...it had been born with more confidence then she had ever gained in her entire life. It was incredible and Lyra found herself a little bit jealous. She wanted to be as sure of herself as this baby cat.

Her tail thumped on the ground thoughtfully. "Yeah, I guess. You're very wise for someone so young."

Reign observed the hybrid, taking her in. A bird's fanlike tail, the head of a dog, the legs of a bird, the body of a dog. Were there a lot of animals in the cave like her?

He tilted his head thoughtfully, saying, "Some are born wise, others are made." with a shrug. "And what counts as wiseness depends on the person. I could be a fool to someone who values survival over philosophy, after all. You would be very wise to one who values caution.
