Phobos hopped around. "Throw? So being big does not matter. But being small matters?" Phobos wanted to fly, really badly. The bird flapped his wings, not in an attempt to fly thi time, but out of anger. 'Why can I not fly??" Somehow, Phobos got off the ground, and flew. "Yay!" His mood had changed in an instant as he flew onto his new companions head, and sat there. He laughed a prideful laugh. "I'm on top of your head!" Phobos gloated, in a newly loud, awfully rude tone of voice "I'm on top of your head!!! I flew on your head!! It is warm."
@Huckleberry
Huckleberry couldn't understand why the little bird was getting upset but he got upset along with them. He frowned and his ears folded back, scraping at the ground with his claws. "Sorry, sorry, didn't mean to upset. You can probably fly, yeah, mama can fly. You have wings, you will fly. Or maybe you won't Huckleberry doesn't know!" His voice rose to a wail and he was about to cry out something else when Phobos suddenly fluttered into the air. For a moment, Huckleberry just stared at them, eyes wide before he suddenly jumped up at the feeling of them landing on his head and a huge smile broke on his face. "Oh, look! You did it! You're on me head!"

Out of pure excitement, his gem struck out into the sky with his magic and a roaring thunderclap rang through the cave and Huckleberry pranced around, laughing, not at all affected by Phobos's smug attitude or the terribly loud noise he had caused. He spread his wings and flew around, hopefully with the bird still clinging to his head as the rumbling of the thunder continued to pound through the cave for a few moments more.

"You're ok, it is fine!" then there was a sudden loud noise, which really hurt. Phobos chirped, surprised at the loud noise. "What was that Huckleberry? What Happened?" He was very confused. The noise had been loud, and hurt his hearing. Phobos watched from his friends head the room below them. "This is really fun, and this place is very pretty!" @Huckleberry
Huckleberry laughed loudly at Phobos's confusion, extremely amused that they were scared by the sudden banging of the thunder. Hey, their magic was cool! They were proud of themselves that they could make such cool, loud noises! "My magic is loud, yes yes my magic!" With another cry of joy, they tried to activate the thunderous sound again, but nothing came and disappointment washed over their body.

The act of flying suddenly wasn't such fun anymore. If they couldn't succeed a silly little spell, what right did they have to be in the air? They suddenly stopped flying forward and just flapped in the air steadily, feeling the weight of their friend on their head like it was twice as heavy. They felt very bad right now, but they didn't know why. Hadn't Phobos said it was fun? They should enjoy this...right?

Huckleberry sighed. "I tried to do it again but I can't. I can't use my magic. Why is that?" They frowned, feeling very foolish, especially for having said that out loud.

They looked down and had a sudden idea. "Hey, friend, you should fly. We're high up! Fly or fall! I'll catch you if you fall!"

Phobos peeped. "Magic? I don't know." And Phobos heard Huckleberry, and trusted his friend, and jumped off his head. Phobos jumped, but could not fly, falling to the ground like a rock. "HELP!!" He flapped around wildly,, but could not do it. "HEEEEELP!" @huckleberry
Huckleberry felt the weight lift off his head and, just for a second, was content, knowing that Phobos would be able to fly. But as soon as the little bird dropped to the ground, terror shot through his veins. He was paralyzed with fear. His friend was going to die, they were going to die right now and Huckleberry could do nothing. It seemed like the world was inverted - when Huckleberry should kill, he could not. When he should not kill, he did it too well.

He wished and hoped that something would happen. That the wind would carry Phobos to safety. He prayed and hoped that anything would save the bird and he felt magic streaming from his gem. Wind swirled around him and he widened his eyes with surprise. It felt tangible, as if it were at his command.

He could save them!

With a silent flourish of his wings, he sent his wind down to Phobos, hopefully to cushion under his wings and at least break his fall. It wouldn't be strong enough to support them, but it would hopefully make their landing easier.

Phobos was shocked, with terror and relief, when he landed ok. "Thank you huckleberry!!" He hopped around happily, and chirped a bit. "I wanna do magic too!" Phobos tried, and utterly failed. "I have a shiny thingy!Your shiny hing does magic! I want magic!" The bird went from happy to sad quite quickly, as he learned all the things he could not seem to do or make happen. "I can't do so many things!" @HUCKLEBERRY
Huckleberry landed next to Phobos and tilted their head. Why were they so grateful? He hadn't been able to make them fly. But perhaps landing was okay, even if he wasn't satisfied with it. He should have been good enough to create a strong wind to make him fly.

He leaned forward and gently sniffed at the gem on Phobos's chest. "You can do magic. You just have to keep trying!" He leaned back and smiled wildly. "Don't worry, when I started I could barely make a spark! But now I can do this!" He looked up and released some magic from his gem. There was a small spark and then a crack of lightning split the air, coming from his body and shooting into the sky. He felt tingling across his body from the spell, but he had cast it so many times now that it was pretty much numb to him at this point.

"Try again? Yes, try again." Phobos chirped to himself as he tried again, at his friend's advice. Immediately, he felt a burning around his feet, wings, and beak. "I feel warm!" He felt burning and pain. "Ow.." He then noticed the floor had ashes on it. "Whoah! My magic is so cool!! I can burn things! but it hurts..." He chirped and flapped around in pain, burning the floor more until the spell turned off. "Wow!! I can burn things!! Isn't that cool??" He said, ignoring the burns and pain he had. @Huckleberry
