Oliver blinked, alarmed.

"N-no! I'm sorry, this one's--this one's hard," he admitted quietly. He looked, apologetically, to Jayberry. He'd done a great deal to aid her but--could he manage this? Could he actually stop the bleeding? He didn't know another way, and it was dangerous.

But he had to keep trying. "I practiced on plants," he said, softly, "and sometimes on rats and things--when they're hurt or-... dead ones, just--for practice. But it's hard," he repeated. Taking a breath, trying to still his nervousness, he closed his eyes. Clawed wing-hands reached out to rest gently near Jayberry's wounds, and he focused.

He realized too late that he should probably have removed the woven plant matter from his own digits, first; it coiled farther around them, and he found himself drawing back with an--"Oh, wait, wait--I have to take this off-..."

He grimaced as it coiled tighter. It was growing painful, now.

This was bad.

The bull moose let out a deep sigh, trying to be more patient. He knew that the boy was doing his best, but Blue needed better than his best. He needed for Jayberry to be okay.

"I... I apologize Oliver. I care for my daughter. I want her to be okay, and I wish for her pain to stop. It is hard for me to remain reasonable." He apologized softly, dipping his head to the healer. Jayberry would be fine, he told himself.
