Within a seemingly forgotten chrysalis a neonate had grown but now she had grown, her body too large to stay within the safety of the shell any longer, and the purple stone had cracked. Now awakened, the young gembound pushed against the remained of the stone which fell away and she fell to the floor in a heap. Pale blue eyes opened and she stared for a moment at her hooves for the youngster which had emerged was indeed an equine. Where was she? Her language was limited, but she was sure of one thing. This place, whatever it was, was home.
Slowly, she rose to her legs. They shook beneath her, not yet used to holding her weight, but still she took a step forwards. Then another. As she moved around she grew stronger and soon enough the golden horse felt secure. Her tail waved as she made her way through the area, drawn to a small pool of water. She stared into it, and a white face stared back. Carefully, she lifted a hoof and pawed at the image and it rippled away. She turned her back to it, back to exploring this place. It was all new, and she had yet to find anyone but herself.
The cavern echoed as she walked forwards, and soon enough she found herself drawn to something on the walls. She sniffed it curiously, then licked it before pulling back with a slight frown. It tasted…. Good. Even if it did smell funny. Her stomach growled and she grabbed the moss between her teeth, taking a mouthful and swallowing it down.
