ORIGIN

Within this coiling steam billowing in Fornax is a particular object of interest is laying on solid ground; it is striated with multiple iridescent colours; deep blue, silver, green to pink with many patterned dark lines helping this kaleidoscopic object colours mesh together with each other flawlessly but something is off about it. It appears it has been there for quite a long while and how much it has deteriorated over time is obvious, some colours have dulled, it's exterior has many dents on it as many small pieces have chipped away on it over time, however they are only dents no holes to reveal its interior, it has stayed strong despite all things.

It is still but with some occasional budging which may be merely a pulse within this chrysalis whatever so even now despite how much it has taken over time this chrysalis even now shows no sign in hatching soon.

What could be wrong?

Although this chrysalis is a solid material and not elastic so not capable of stretching itself, yet it appears something heavy is shoved against its interior and has been forced to expand like a balloon than physically possible. Whoever is within this chrysalis must be so cramped in there, from how long this has been here is any sign, this Gembound must be big enough to come to this world by now. This chrysalis still won't relent though, even though it is breaking away, bit by bit, like moulting fur from a coat belonging to a fluffy Gembound. This chrysalis has stretched to its limit and Fornax's high temperatures will make it somewhat easier for it to break already, yet something isn't letting it break apart and free this Gemling from its confines.

There is another sound which initially seems like another pulse but, it had a slower rhythm, it drawls out where it isn't an instant beat like a pulse is, like breathing-no something is snoring within this chrysalis possibly, seems to be breathing fine, even if their snoring is a little gruff sounding.

There are a few scraping sounds from its interior too, but it seems whatever being is within this chrysalis is merely shifting their form to a more comfortable position, though with how cramped it is how they can manage to find a spot comfy and not be bothered is unknown. It's hard to tell as even though this chrysalis not being fully transparent all this condensation clinging to this chrysalis' exterior is fogging its glassy appearance up.

Rast had found some joy in exploring the various caverns on her own. She didn't really mind being alone, but she also didn't mind having companionship. The young snow leopard wondered vaguely what Aspen could be up to. Perhaps he hadn't seen this place yet. The fluffy cat decided that as soon as she was done exploring she would go find her companion and bring him her.

It was quite hot in this place. Her dense fur was undoubtedly made for the cold. Her pale eye wondered, it was very green too and almost foggy. She snorted, maybe having two eyes would be useful. The area seemed to filled with the roar of water falling. Waterfalls, that's what they are called! Rast continued forward, her neck craning to look all the way up at a waterfall while she walked.

The lack of attention being paid landed her in an interesting situation. As she continued forward on the pebbles along the shore she found herself tripping. Her front right paw slammed into a big rock which then caused her to roll sideways and splash into the water.

"Ack!" A little roar escaped her as she flopped around trying to regain her composure. She stalked out of the water, flinging each paw high into the air. Oh no oh no, I am soaking wet... Rast shook her small body hard when she stepped back on to the shore.

"Oh!"

She saw what she tripped on. It was a rock, yes, but a very pretty one! The snow leopard found herself mesmerized by all the colors that danced upon its surface; blue, silver, green, and pink. As she approached it she could hear a scratching sound come from inside, wait inside?. Her fur puffed up, This is like the place I came from! Something is in there!

She place a furry paw on the chrysalis, "Hello?" Rast patted the surface a few times, "Hellooooo?" The snow leopard wasn't quite sure what to do. Did it need help? Should she leave it alone? She took a step back and sat down, maybe she would just watch it for a minute.

Nothing else seemed to be going on, this chrysalis wasn't going to break apart soon despite all factors entirely, but unforeseen circumstances ended up getting brought down on this here chrysalis and disturbed its stagnant state. Something rammed straight into this chrysalis, causing it to roll and tumble down some slopes making an echoing clanging noise each time, barely avoiding itself from falling into this water, although floating in this warm water like a hard-boiled egg may have been the last kick this chrysalis needed to hatch at last. Within this chrysalis, something muffled like a mix between small roars and a grunt was heard a few times during its fall, but it didn't seem agitated, tricky to tell from how muffled it was it could've possibly been a mirage. Could be still snoring and this chrysalis falling may have made it seem like their snoring's pitch, rhythm or frequency appear a little different.

Either way, although this chrysalis finally has some good ribbon-like cracks lined on its exterior now. Motionless it is still, and this muffled snoring within it hadn't faded in fact with there now being fissures on this shell it was much easier to tell it was breathing what was coming from this chrysalis with an occasional scraping noise.

When some extra weight was placed onto this chrysalis by this Gembound, it made it break apart even more from how fragile it is currently and their voice may have possibly reached whoever is within it as they seem to be a bit stirred as they appear to shift themselves again. Scratching at this shell during it, it seemed to be mumbling something, but it was so unintelligible and not coherent at all for one's ears to decipher.

This snow leopard here has helped some progress to come for making this chrysalis to hatch, now it hasn't hatched but it is a step closer to doing so and whoever is within this chrysalis seems to be rousing now.

Will need perhaps one last extra push to help this chrysalis break apart entirely.

Rast leaned forward, her ears angled towards the chrysalis. A crack had appeared along it's surface. She could hear something! It was moving around! Something told her that this was how she came to be as well. Perhaps this other creature would be like her and Other Me!

The snow leopard pressed her pink nose against the cold surface and gave it a sniff. It didn't smell like anything... maybe it had a taste? Rast placed another paw on the sleek surface and rasped her tongue over it a few times. Salty.. She pulled her tongue away and ran it over the fluffy fur on her chest a few times to get rid of the taste.

Once again, she took a few steps back and sat down. Maybe it needed more help! It looked like it was ready to fall apart. An idea popped into Rast's mind and a silly grin spread over the young cats face.

Rast rose and took several steps back and fell into a crouch. She bunched up her muscles, wriggled her butt, and all at once took a flying leap towards the chrysalis!

Whatever it mumbled faded away quickly as soon it went back to rhythmic snoring and seemed to have returned to its calm state again, nothing new except for now some new cracks is lining down this here shell.

Nothing happened at all when prodded by a nose, a paw once again or a tongue none managed to stir this chrysalis further despite how a forefoot only a second ago managed to rally something, though maybe it was their voice instead what roused it earlier.

When they pounced on this chrysalis, it cracked away more with a significant split in its middle forming and was going to go full circle, but with how slippery this chrysalis is from all this condensation it slipped away from under Rast's weight as it tumbled a little bit again. A puddle of hot water under where it landed on, didn't go too far this time but some large chunk broke off and flew outwards. Final kick needed as many cracked laced around and broke away, revealing something which was blue and fluffy, as more broke apart displayed while there are a lot more colours to it such as white and maybe a tad pink, it's fluffiness remained prominent, in fact around where fluffiness is white seems fluffier than other parts. A final piece to this shell broke off, and something unusual laid there unconscious curled up on its belly. A quadruped creature, Great Dane sized but not a Great Dane at all even if they are fluffy, and a quadruped. A Great Dane for one cannot possess such colours to its coat like this one here, nor have two small stubs on its head or a few small feathers at its side, nor what seems like a feather duster or something on its tail. Not to add, this is a Gemling, and its size is equivalent to an adult Great Dane so if it indeed was a Great Dane it'd be much smaller than an adult one.

This is an odd creature. It continued to lay unconscious, but it was mumbling again.

"Mmmmmphhh... Five... more... mins... k...?" it mumbled groggily to whoever and it was all it said as it seemed to lay motionless again quietly, the only noise coming from it was snoring.


@Rast

The snow leopard cubs paws slammed into the chrysalis. Another crack split through its surface with a loud snap. Rast tumbled over to the other side of the chrysalis, slipping on the pebbles but not falling this time. When her ever so graceful slide was over, she turned around to see if she had cracked that thing open.

Sure enough fragments of the colorful chrysalis were scattered around a very fluffy creature. Rast hesitated for a moment, this thing had very interesting colors. She had not seen many other creatures, perhaps these colors were normal? It was very big, much bigger than she was now and probably bigger than she would ever be. It had little stubs on it's head too, and such fluffy fur. It was even fluffier than Rast's tail! The cat crept closer, moving slowly with uncertainty.

The large creature was mumbling. Five more minutes? Rast stretched forward, keeping her paws planted in case she needed a quick get away, and took a whiff of the fluffy thing. It's fur was pulled up into Rasts nose, sending her into a sneezing fit.

Once that ceased, she shook her head and blinked hard. Maybe she should wake it up! That would help her figure out what it was for sure.

"Hey!" She waved a paw in front of the creatures closed eyes. "Hey! What are you??"

Their slumber resumed, cosy here this Gemling was content to lay here forever if he can get away with it as he let out a huge stretch and relaxed again, his fur had a slight glossy gleam on it from his chrysalis and moisture around them. He was glad he no longer was cramped either as his neck and shoulders were aching from it all and was making it a little hard to sleep no matter which sleeping position he tried, no idea what it was all about but he'll worry about such a thing later, he was comfy now which is what matters now.

Not only was this Gemling big in size they also had quite a bulky build to them but it doesn't seem to be muscle but he sure appeared to be massive, his fluffiness may give off an illusion to such a thing, but his body mass isn't a waifish build here.

When this smaller Gembound approached at first, his ears merely twitched a little, when something like a brief cold air brushed his fur this bigger Gembound opened one eye halfway, blue with a white pupil like a glowing orb, blinking sleepily with it. This big guy observed this little fella, his eye-opening a bit more when they sneezed in his face; he gave them a small smile in a warm welcome, which widened with some entertainment when they sneezed as if this amuses them, still he said no words.

Both blue eyes opened now, still staring at this smaller one tiredly as they waved and yelled to catch his attention and asked him something.

"Mmmm... Dunno..." he gave a twitch to his shoulders like a shrug as he answered casually, his voice was deep but had a soft tone to it, sounding far too relaxed about not having any idea what or who he is.

"Hey... Wanna take a nap little bud...? I sure wanna nap..." he offered kindly not seeming to mention about how he changed their subject. Maybe it is him, but they appear a bit frazzled to his tired eyes; they might need to take a break, he sure does need a break after his neck aching so much it's tense right now. They can join him if they like and if not well perfectly cool with him too, their choice, not gonna force, not cool to force.


@Rast

Rast blinked in awe as she actually realized how big this other gemling was. Oh Aspen would love this! A little voice in the back of her mind told her to wary of a creature so large, but she was just a cub and that was a voice she could easily push away. There were better thoughts to be had!

As he spoke, the cub relaxed. So far, things that talk are usually friendly! This creature didn't seem to know what he was and Rast certainly didn't know what he was. Perhaps this was a mystery, like how she had to figure out her name and how Other Me had to do the same. The little snow leopard took a brave step forward and craned her neck to look at the fluffy creature.

"Well, you sure are fluffy! Aren't you hot? I am very hot." It made sense to her, this creature had so much more fur than she did! She was warm and the water from her accidental dive was just now drying off. She couldn't imagine what it must feel like without the damp cooling fur.

The other gemling continued on, asking about a nap. Rast tilted her head, a display of her confusion. Shouldn't they be excited to explore! Rast sure was when she hatched! The cub gave a little bounce,

"You're tired! Weren't you just sleeping? Don't you want to explore!" She paced closer and sat down. "But, I guess if you want to nap.. you could take a quick one and then I will wake you back up and we can both explore!" The words tumbled out of her mouth in excitement, almost too fast to comprehend. Surely she would get this big fluffy thing to explore with her.

If this other Gembound were amazed how big this big fella is now, they'd be in for a surprise when this here Gembound grows up to be an adult. Still though even if he will be huge in comparison to what he is now, there is nothing to worry about here, the big guy doesn't bite even if he is massive.

They might soon find out this here talking one is a friendly one alright. Still, this big guy has only emerged so doesn't have the slightest idea what he is or who he is, he doesn't mind though not much of a pressing thing to worry about, content right now so no need to panic about it or anything. When this lil fella seemed to be a bit more comfortable to approach, he risked leaning his head a little bit forward as his eyes are on them.

"Heh... Yup... I am. And naaaaahhhhhhh... Just warm," letting out a yawn afterwards, his temperature is cosy, above lukewarm, it was neat; still, are they hot? Are they too hot where it's uncomfortable? Huh... maybe there's something he could do about it?

He waited patiently to check whether they wanna take him up on his offer to join him in his nap, fine here for a snooze after all although they did say they're too hot right now so maybe not.

"Mmmmmm... Maybe I was sleeping," he answered back in an amused and teasing manner, he was yes, but it'd be funnier to be cryptic about it and maybe act oblivious.

"Ehhhhhhhh nahhhh not yet... I like it here... But sure sounds good little bud, gimme five minutes kay?" he lowered his head a bit more to their level as he laid down again. No promises they'll be able to wake him up again, but as long as he gets at least five minutes, he'll be good to go and follow them around to where they want to take him.
