This thread takes place outside of character's timelines - it never actually happened

A dream?

Blackberry didn't know what had brought her to this place. It was like something had called her here, something beyond her control. It had begged her from her sleep, stepping over the sleeping bodies of her family, followed closely by Huckleberry who seemed to be affected by it too.

They wandered aimlessly through Polaris, as if in a trance. The journey could have taken a lifetime, or perhaps a few seconds, but they stood next to the Spire as if nothing had happened. It shined with a strange light - brighter and almost tangible, hanging so thick in the air that, for a moment, she couldn't see anything. Even Huckleberry had disappeared from her side. What was happening?

Annoyance tingled on her skin. What on earth was so important that it had to pull her from her nest all the way here for seemingly nothing?

And then the curtain of light lifted and Blackberry saw them. All of them. Her heart nearly stopped.

Eridanus had always served Rift perfectly as a home. He hadn't left the deep jungle in so many cycles he had forgotten how long ago it had been. Sebastian left, sure, but he could never get the plant-loving cat out. But this, for some reason, this seemed like an important reason. But if he was asked exactly what the reason was, he wouldn't be able to answer.

He thought that he would forget the way, with all of the different tunnels he could take, but it seemed to come instinctual. There was no hesitation as he chose his path. A journey that might have taken him a few hours seemed to pass in no time at all and he found himself in the cave that he had hatched in - so alien, that he had forgotten what the Spire had looked like. But it wasn't the bright, surely?

No, it couldn't be. The light was everywhere, so dense that he'd thought he'd choke on it. It was almost like a mist, the way it clung to his fur. Small seedlings sprung out across his fur nervously and his ear pulled back. This was why he never left his cave.

But then the light died away and Rift felt his heart skip a beat. Or maybe two. There were so many...and he recognized some of them. Oh no...

Ever since following the Sinful Seven, as Envy had called them, all the way to Orion, Reseda had only left to gather some bones from Canis. She had no interest in spending any extra energy going all the way back to Polaris. But something had called her. And, for once, she followed the calling with no complaints.

She, too, found herself in the midst of the mist-like light, wreathing around her and tickling her skin. She sighed. If nothing was going to happen, she might as well return to her cave. She was tired and this had awoken her from her sleep.

She only perked her head up when the mist cleared. And, while she was a little surprised to find so many creatures around, she certainly didn't visibly react to it. Her eyes travelled carefully across who was gathered before resting on the goose. "Oh, you." she acknowledged her simply before moving to the cougar. "I know you." But she said nothing more before curiously watching how the others would react.

Way up on the ceiling, Caliante hung, curious. She had been called here as well and watched the Spire with great interest. Yes, she had been in this cave plenty of times, but she had never seen the magic crystal glow so strangely. Was it a dream? What are you waiting for? Go down there! Let's check it out! She frowned. "Now hold on. We can't be hasty. Something weird is happening." She felt a tremor of excitement in the back of her mind. No! Let's go! Go now!

She felt Salvations consciousness press up against hers and, suddenly, Tarragon's attacked her as well. Shocked by the sudden attack, her claws flexed and she lost her grip. With a cry, they plummeted to the ground. SALVATION AND TARRAGON. ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?!

The two slipped away immediately and Caliante was able to fling out her wings just in time to stop them from crashing too horribly. But it still hurt when the smacked into the ground. Groaning, she raised herself up and looked around. The light was so dense down here, it was almost like mist. "What is this?"

And then the light was suddenly gone and she froze. There were so many creatures around and some of them didn't look too nice. What have you gotten us into?!

"Caliante." "Salvation." "Rusty." "Crack." "Tarragon." "Ripple."

Asimona sat herself down next to the Spire. No voice needed to call her there. It was simply a coincidence that she had found herself in its vicinity. Loneliness was really weighing down on her back and sometimes the Spire felt so full of magic that it was almost alive. It was her only means of comfort now, when she felt like there was no one there.

She sighed and rested her head on her front legs, eyes staring off into nothing. What was she to do now that there was nobody but the three? She had been getting better for a while, but now she felt herself sinking back into that manic depression. She couldn't go there again.

Thankfully, it seemed that the three had given her a night off. Or perhaps it was the strange magic working around her that had driven them away. Only Asimona's consciousness would enter this strange confrontation.

The light was getting brighter now and, before she knew it, the mist-like light was hanging around her as well. Confused, she scrambled to her feet, giving her wings a few flaps to try and push it away. But it, being light, did not budge.

Anxiety began to spin in her chest and her breaths began to grow harsh. She whipped around, trying to find a break in the mist when, suddenly, it was gone and Asimona was facing more Gembounds then she had ever seen gathered in one place.

At the sight of the goose, Asimona had to stop herself from letting out a roar. How dare she show her face to her ever again?! She felt her broken claw tingling. But there was too much going on that she just couldn't react. She just stared at everyone with shock.

"Can you hear their voice?"
"Find the one who'll guide you."
To the limits of your choice.
