The little cub mewled.

His eyes were wet and tired, and he lay curled up in the shattered remains of his chrysalis. The light green shards gleamed around him and on his pelt, matching the large chunk of gemstone on his chest.

His tail twitched, and his throat ached. It had been a long conversation, one held with a Gemling that had hatched at the same time. But now that Gemling - his twin, even if they didn't share blood - was gone, and he was tired. So he rested, not yet knowing the dangers of the Caves.

"Speech looks like this."
Thoughts look like this.

Only a body-length or so away from the tiger cub, another chrysalis sat. Or, it should be said, the remains of one sat. Bright blue shards rested on the ground, glistening green when hit by the light.

But their occupant was nowhere to be seen. Was it possible that it, too, belonged to the tiger? But, no, no Gembound ever had two Chrysalises. So where had the Gemling gone?

Up above, a fox snickered. After speaking with his twin, he had clambered up the tree, ducking into a hollow. There, he laid flat, ears twitching as he listened to the going's on. Unlike his twin, he had plenty of energy, but nothing to spend it on. Without realizing it, the shadows had wrapped around him, hiding him from sight in the hollow.

Zola waddled slowly to Eridanus. She looked around and then continued on waddling. She tilted her head as she saw another gembound. She had never seen this creature before and so she waddled closer.

"Hello, Zola never met you. Zola wonders, who are you? Zola name is Zola."

She gave a small smile before looking around. She had never been here before either. She enjoyed exploring and meeting new creatures.
