Huckleberry widened his eyes a little sadly as Cloudberry appeared. She was so young to him still and he didn't want her here. But if he dared try to send her home or even talk to her at such a time, he knew that Mama would never forgive him. He knew that that would be the end. He had to keep his mouth shut and deal with it, however much it hurt.
He didn't want to fight. He didn't like fighting, except to show off his magic. But this wasn't a time to show off. They were attacking someone completely innocent for no reason other then that they could. He remembered the last time they had ganged up on someone - it had been a raven and it hadn't gone so well, the bird's powerful magic wounding many of them severely.
His heart was racing and he tried to control his breathing, but it wasn't so easy without Shiny on his shoulders. Eventually he gave up and let the panic and fear fill his body. Perhaps it would give him the strength to do this. He had two options now, though - fight with the family or once again let himself become labeled a traitor. He knew what his answer was.
As Blackberry screeched for her family to attack, Huckleberry burst out from the bushes, his heart finally set on something. He wanted to make his family proud. All thoughts of perhaps leaving the family, abandoning them to live on his own, they were gone. He was focused now - focused on being a Bloodberry, what he had been raise to be.
As he burst through the edge of the trees, he glanced up and saw the cat on top of the roots of the massive tree shaking wildly. They weren't going to be able to kill him if he was up there so the hybrid leaped forward, crouched with his front legs, and as his back legs kicked strongly at the ground, he jumped and spread his wings, shooting towards the cat like a bullet, intending on using his momentum on knocking the cat to the ground.
It worked. He rammed right into Rift's chest, grabbing at the feline with his claws, and sending both of them tumbling to the ground, smashing through the well-tended plants of the garden. He cried out in pain as he banged against root and rock, but it was worth it - he had grounded the cougar for the others to attack.
As Mischief abruptly jerked to attention, the wanderer's head whipped towards her. The hare came forth, scratching a drawing into the earth before running out of the garden. Mercurius peered down at it for a moment, heart thrumming.
With that, the pale beast licked the top of each Star's head before mustering up a shot of magicka. With a little bit of luck, all of the flora that had separated the grove from the rest of Eridanus would swell up further, forming a nearly impenetrable dome of vines and brambles. Mercurius paced over to a tree, willing his arthritic joints to action. Claws unsheathing, the lion scooted his way up the tree, careful to not make a single sound and to simply watch and guard.
He hoped that Pride was alright.

Eridanus was typically a throng of bustling creatures and energy. On any given day the cavern was alive with various critters talking, moving, being. It could perhaps be considered the most alive of the caverns as nature of a variety overflowed there. But that was on a typical day.
And this was not a typical day.
The forest was eerily silent. Like for the lesser gembounds, this put the springbok at ill ease. She knew something was coming. Something big. Last time Enka had flung herself into the midst of danger while flames surrounded her. Even now, three cycles later, the smell of smoke caused her stomach to clench and threaten retching. And all for naught, as she had nearly died and much of the forest had fallen.
This time, instinct told her to stay away and stay away she had planned indeed to accomplish. There was no point in putting one’s life in danger again for a cause that was doomed. It was nearly a miracle she had survived the last time. Her rump twitched and tail flicked as she moved away, the unease causing her to be on edge and fidgety.
Then the forest suddenly rang out. In a flash the antelope’s head snapped around to see its source. In the distance a rather large tree quivered with enough intensity to appear as though caught in its own tornado despite no evidence of wind. It was a strange sight. For a moment she simply watched, trying to assess if it had anything to do with the silence of the forest.
Her stomach clenched and her heart plummeted as she realized where the tree stood at. How did she not recognize it immediately? It had been cycles since she last saw the cougar. How many had it been? Far too long, that much was for certain. At least not since the fire, as failing to save the lives of so many plant children had caused her to feel too ashamed to see her mentor again. It was his tree, his home, that shook so urgently. That, along with the silence, was not a good sign.
Hooves locked into the mossy earth below her as she stood frozen in place. Wide brown eyes stared at the tree while her mind raced. It was clearly a dangerous situation. What could she possibly do to help? She couldn’t even save the young plants? What business did she have answering the call?
But this was her mentor. And it was clearly an emergency. Rift was strong and capable; he would not cry out for help unless he needed it.
Without realizing it, she had sprung forward and was racing towards the tree. Her eyes stung as tears welled up. She would never forgive herself if Rift fell while she played it safe. She had horns and hooves, teeth and earth. She would do what she could, even if it was just to help him run away. She could not fail this time.
Within a few short moments, she arrived to a mad scene of bodies rushing forward. They had already begun. A multitude of creatures she didn’t recognize (though one dark form did look vaguely familiar), had appeared. One of which was falling from the tree, the cougar held tight in its grip. She reared up, kicking her front hooves. “

Notes: Oh boy, let's see how this goes. XD
Sebastian dreaded.
He had destroyed his Brother's beloved forest - his Brother's home. And they had not spoken in cycles. Long enough for his wounds to heal, to scar. For fur to grow over his scars, for his scars to stop constantly hurting. But he feared seeing his Brother, feared doing something wrong.
And so he lagged as he made his way to his Brother's garden, following the deer-paths. His head was low, his stride a stalk, but he walked.
At least, until he heard his Brother's cry for help. It would be impossible to miss the shaking tree, waving wildly. Panic shot through him, his heart thundering in his ears. He shoved off the ground, leaped into the trees, and raced towards the Great Tree.
And was horrified by what he saw. There were a great many beasts - friends and foe alike - gathered around his Brother's tree. He barreled into eye-line just in time to see the hybrid take his brother off of the tree, a strangled cry building in his throat, cutting short as Enka rammed into the hybrid. She could do this, he knew.
He had never met Blackberry, had never seen her. But he had heard of her through Rift, and so set his sights on her. With a screaming roar that only a cougar could manage, he leaped from the tree, claws extended and teeth bared, aiming to land on Blackberry with as much of his weight as he could. If they didn't put an end to this soon, it would be a bloodbath.
@Blackberry
The others arrived, one by one, and Yewberry ignored them. But, oooh, she couldn't wait to see how Acaiberry would be punished. If she had been thrashed by Mother for missing their meetings, she couldn't imagine what would happen for missing an all out war.
And then The Goose was screaming - a harsh sound that tore at her ears and made her want to tear out the Goose's throat, but then she was on her paws and moving, racing towards the fight. Huckleberry tore the cat from the tree, and was quickly pounced on by a deer. Well, that just wouldn't do, would it?
She dug in her paws, before charging towards the deer. The wolfingbird aimed her beak forward, attempting to ram it into Enka's side.
