He awoke. Or not awoke, but he became aware. For a second time. It was so much more cramped this time around, his wings pressed too close into his body. He needed out of here. Wherever 'here' was. He couldn't remember a whole lot, but he knew he had gotten out before. He met other Gembound. Fought some others. And then there was a big gap in his memory.

And now, Xervas was here.

He made a wild attempt to get out, thrashing around in the cramped space. Nothing. Of course not! It was too tight in here. How was he supposed to get out when he couldn't move at all?? So he actually tried this time. Shoved once more. Still nothing. It couldn't possibly be this hard to free himself. He had done it before, he knew this! And when he was much smaller! Weaker!

"Speech."

Xervas wouldn't let this stop him! He had to get out of this place. Nothing would hold him back, certainly not the crystalline shell surrounding him. So, indeed, he gave it a second try: slamming his wings into the side, scratching in front of him.

He felt something shift off to his side, could feel some of the fluid leaking from the chrysalis. Progress. This is precisely what he needed. Just a bit more...

...one more good slam and it fell apart around him; the black and red stone scattered across the ground. The lammergeier was forcibly removed as well, unable to stop himself from falling out with the rush of amniotic fluid. The bird-- fully grown, an unusual sight from a chrysalis-- was not exactly elegant when he was sent to the cave floor.

"Speech."
