ORIGIN - Show me the way

Yurei's journey brought her to a weird place this time, and as time passed this new world seemed calm so far, to the point of making her forget the safeties her egg provided. On the first days, she wished to go back there and find the darkness that comforted her. But now she didn't felt soo needy with that. Those pretty growing rocks were somethings she didn't want to dismiss.

And today, following those lights, she found herself near a river, where a strange liquid flew by. As she never saw water before, she thought it was a weird looking stuff. And curiosity made her approach, carefully. And when the wolf reached the border she wanted to give it a try. So she started to drink from it, feeling how the cold substance filled her throat.

Despite it having no real taste she liked how it felt in her mouth.

Oliver was taking a break from the whole "olympics" thing. He'd slipped away from the hubbub, needing some time to himself--but he should have known that the cave wouldn't be empty through and through.

As he made his way to the river, he saw someone ahead--a white wolf, he thought, though from behind he couldn't be quite sure. There were so many strange hybrids about (his own sister being one of them), and it was hard to always tell that something might not have a bird head when it turned around.

He also didn't want to startle the stranger into falling face-first into the fast-flowing river--he knew personally how dangerous the waterway was. The current was strong, its waters bitterly cold. So--his voice gently soft--he called out from some distance away."Um--excuse me. Don't jump, or anything, okay? I was coming to get a drink?" His tone was shy, almost as if he felt the need to ask permission to come and drink from the river.

Then he waited, one taloned forelimb hanging midair, his hind legs low and his ear-tufts hesitantly held back against an attentively-raised head.

Her joy was high as she kept drinking from the weird but fascinating substance. And there many questions formed in her young mind, wondering what was that called? Was it endless? Would be okay if she entered? Or how would it felt in her fur? She wanted to try it, and little she knew how dangerous it could be.

But something told her to don't do it, and she felt a chilling sensation crossing on her spine. And slowly steps back feeling discomforted and the wish to taste it with her body faded, giving a pass to fear. She didn't want it anymore. But the curiosity slowly started to fight back, making her hesitate in getting away, and raising a paw she tried to touch the surface.

But then. "Um--excuse me. Don't jump, or anything, okay? I was coming to get a drink?" Her ears pinned and she gave several steps back and noticed a weird creature. Her eyes were printed with distrust, and her tail hides between her legs.

But soon, the interest in their appearance made her stay and sniff the air. The pup started to walk and sit near them, staring at their wings unsure about what those were. Words didn't come due to the lack of vocabulary she had to use.

The pup's pinned ears weren't lost on him. Having no desire to frighten her further, he laid his own ear-tufts back, dipping his head as if to say he was harmless.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you--I'm friendly. I'm Oliver," he added, touching a claw-hand to his chest for a moment, his expression kind and earnest.

He then skirted widely around her--giving her plenty of space--so that he, too, could get to the water. And once there, he drank deeply--he hadn't realized how thirsty he was, and after a moment he was lost in greedily lapping up the icy flow.
