His claws slid through fur and fat like butter. A gasp of relief escaped Snowberry has Sergei released his grip just slightly as he bellowed with pain. The sound made his ears ring. However, his teeth still remained lodged in the polar bears' flesh. The white fur on his maw was turning red as the slightly larger bear continued to writhe around to avoid Snowberry's claws.

Suddenly, Sergei's weight shifted dramatically. The polar bear would remain upright for a moment, but the sheer pain of his face being torn further forced him down. His body landed with a heavy thud onto the rock. His head jerked awkwardly, as the side of his face was still clenched between his opponent's teeth.

Panic started to set in. His fight instinct was turning into flight. The polar bear writhed violently to try and kick Sergei's front legs out from under him. But the action also caused him to jerk his head. The soft skin of his upper jaw and cheek tore with the sickening sound of ripping fabric.

An almost alien sound rose from Snowberry's throat as it happened.

Perhaps this fish was not quite worth it.

Round 4/5
Attempt: Sweep the leg
Defenses:
Injuries: Face=Wrecked

@sergei

Sergei pulled free as Snowberry tore away, and his beady eyes widened as he saw what he had done. The polar bear's face was badly torn, the ripping sound something he'd remember for a time whenever his claws tore through a fish's shining scales. He began to pull back, at once intending to simply back off, but at the same time the polar bear's thick limbs struck his own and he staggered heavily before thumping down on his wounded chest. One foreleg remained half-standing, though, and he quickly moved to shove himself away, to get room between him and Snowberry.

"You ASK--" he roared. He didn't want to continue this fight, not if it meant more of the same. The fish was not worth that. "The word please!" His own pride demanded, though, that the white bear make some sort of concession. At least, for now.

If it got much bloodier, over a fish, he wouldn't care enough anymore.

Round 4/5
Attempt: Get some space
Defenses:
Injuries: Clawed/Torn Chest

@Snowberry
Snowberry panted as he rose to his paws. He could taste his own blood in his mouth. Frustration and pain made his fur burn. The wounds he sustained seemed to clear his mind. All of this over a fish.

His eyes turned towards Sergei. The bear had made space between them. In fact, he was even talking to him. Snowberry's own pride kept him from using such a word as please after he tasted defeat. Or perhaps that was just the taste of his own blood...

His adrenaline from the fight was slowly ebbing and the pain was slowly increasing. Snowberry swung his head away defiantly from the brown bear, huffing with anger. What would mother say?

Snowberry shook his head and turned to leave, moving with haste.

Round 5/5
Attempt: The walk of shame
Defenses:
Injuries: Torn cheek/upper jaw

@sergei
The polar bear was fleeing.

Sergei groaned, a little, the agony in his chest burning at him. It looked like Snowberry was fleeing--or was he trying to get space before a charge? Or was he going to use magic?

Sergei stood, trying not to wince at the pain, and did his best to let out a loud roar. To intimidate; to perhaps scare Snowberry into truly, definitely fleeing all the way away, and not stopping

...He was rather at a loss as to what else he should do.

@Sergei @Snowberry
The roar of his opponent filled his ears as he moved hastily from the area of the fight. Despite the disfiguring wounds on his face, he felt his confidence boost just a little at the thought of having done a decent amount of damage. Even if he didn't win the fish, he would now have battle scars. Perhaps he would appear more intimidating?

There was little time to think of that now. His mind was still swimming with pain. Finding a place to rest and tend to his wounds somehow was priority.

@sergei

Sergei dropped back to all fours, looking around in a confused manner for his fish.

Right--fish still present. Check.

He ignored the pain in his chest--which was very disconcerting, really, as he was feeling cold air hit places it should never have touched. He was pretty sure it was torn right down to the muscle, the skin hanging open, and he could hear the patter of blood on the rock below.

Jaws closed firmly around the fish and he turned, lumbering off as fast as he dared, wincing with every step.

He, too, would have scars--but more than that, he was disturbed. The fish hadn't been worth harming someone so badly. Being harmed, that was one thing, but what if he'd killed the other..? These thoughts and more troubled the brown bruin as he made his way far from the scene of the fight.
