Don't you ever tame your demons
But always keep 'em on a leash
Kerberos was determined not to die OR listen to Usui. As much as Usui was probably right, the puppy was still a stubborn young thing, and he figured hanging out on the rock would be better than anything. He drew up his tail and did his best to keep it out of the water-- the snake scales were not well adapted to the cold. In fact, quite the opposite. It was the reason why he did not like the river, not even a little. It was cold and deep and evil and he could tell.
So instead, the puppy looked towards the shore and considered trying to push himself to it. He just needed one good shove, and then he could probably claw his way up on to land. He didn't care if he left that stupid lion to die in the river, though he wished he could eat the dumb thing instead of letting it drown. Something felt cruel in leaving Usui to die-- it was wrong. Eating him was right. Justifiable, somehow. His tail vibrated, twitching as he thought, churned through his brain. The red nosed head never let his eyes off of Usui, however.
The air didn't seem to settle down. He didn't know how to make it stop, and he honestly couldn't help it now. The air churned around him, wind ruffling his fur as the differences in heat tried to sort itself out.
