Aetius flew gracefully into Polaris, her white wings carrying her with ease and nobility. She has been so busy acquiring knowledge, that other things had been clouded from her. Aside from her daughter and the upcoming trial of Blackberry, of course. Aetius landed in front of the spire as she took a deep breath. She knew the spire was not just an object, but a living being of sorts. She hadn't just learned this from other sources, but had known this for a while. The spire gave life, and there was something about it that screamed it was a living being. Aetius wanted answers, so why not start here? She attempted to use telepathy on The Spire, yet nothing worked.
Aetius decided to try using her magic once again. Suddenly, she felt her magic working, and she sent a concentrated message into the mind of the spire. A message that only it could hear. She hoped that it would respond, and hoped it would give her some sort of reaction. "Gembounds know nothing of their home's history, I know you can give these answers" The tone was not commanding, it was kind and persuasive. Gembounds of course shaped their own futures, but little to none knew of their past. And the little who knew of their past only knew pieces of it. She waited to see if the spire would respond to her message.
As Aetius extended out her mind, her magicka testing itself against the Spire, something seemed almost to reach back. It was doubly or triply as powerful as her own, resonating and humming. But only her own words came back to her--amplified so as to be deafening, and unpleasantly so. She would hear her own thoughts, echoing and repeating, adding on top of one another until it was a mad cacophony of her own words careening about inside her mind.

This would build rapidly, a pain lashing through her head, a tendril of magic from the Spire arcing out and searing a thin burn over the owl's breastfeathers. At last, it would subside, leaving the thoughts echoing down into silence.

@Aetius
Aetius gave a loud hoot of pain as the spire screamed her own words back at her. Then she felt a thin burn on her chest. This magic was powerful, and as much as she wanted to find out of the caves, she learned the hard way The Spire was not something to mess with. The owl quickly took flight as she took note never to bother The Spire again. This newfound respect for the spire came from respective fear. Aetius hoped she hadn't angered the spire, because it sure sounded angry,
