Aran wriggled his ears in wonder about the topic of her visions. He wondered what kinds of things she could see, but didn't want to as just in case she didn't want to tell. Though at her next comment about him trying out magic, made him curious.
"What should I concentrate on? I don't know what to do.." He replied to her comment about making magic.
What was he supposed to concentrate on? How would he know if it worked? Was it painful? Would there be a rush?
@Hecate
He blinked at Hecate's explanation. Felt it in her eyes? So would he feel the spell from wherever it belonged? That sounded interesting! He would have to try that later when he had the chance! Just in case he had something dangerous, he didn't want to hurt anyone. He didn't like the idea of bones and blood and the other things that came with hurt. He didn't want to see that happen to himself, or anyone else. He didn't want to have a bad time, and didn't want anyone else to have one either. It would be sad! No one needed to be sad!
Aran had not noticed that Hecate's eyes were the gem that held the magic for her. He also didn't understand that she couldn't see because of it. Of course, he could have asked what the meaning of the strange color to her eyes was, but would that be rude? He didn't know what he could ask and what he couldn't! Sense? He couldn't really
sense anything! He didn't even know the meaning of the word! He couldn't really feel anything either when the next orb of light came into being, he wondered if it was strange to not feel for the magic of other creatures.
"I can't sense anything? Does that mean feel? What does sense mean?" He asked. Of course he didn't know that he somewhat had the meaning correct, despite being able to talk fine, he didn't understand most things that were spoken and would have to learn from others to understand a lot of things that he would come to know when he was older, and more filled out.
@Hecate
Hecate shifted, clicking her beak and ruffling her feathers, as if impatiently. "Yes, yes, of course sense means feel! But when you feel yourself casting magic, it is not with your skin or your fur, no. Unless you cast magic from there," she added, and shrugged delicately. She could not imagine anyone doing so; it all seemed rather uncouth, but who knew what these other, ground-dwelling creatures might get up to-?
"In any case--have you any more questions? Otherwise, perhaps I might move on." Her voice was musical, her tone a little haughty. She liked the company--it was a rare thing--but such a young one had few things to say that interested her. She was certainly a snobby creature, and the idea of hanging around for such unstimulating conversation was already boring her.
When no response came she departed, her already-thin patience worn into total disinterest.
