Huckleberry was stepping through the lush jungle, stopping every so often to graze peacefully. He'd been feeling...oddly light lately, as if a huge weight had been freed from his chest. Every since Blackberry had been taken away. That was probably not surprising - she was like a cloud in his mind that never went away when she was nearby. During her imprisonment, he'd spent most of his time hiding away at Mercurius's garden, too nervous to return to the main body of the Kingdom.

But now that she was gone, he was free.

It was a depressing realization to come to, that he had been right - she had been nothing but pain. A small side of him still desperately wanted to return to her, to the normalcy of the life he had before, but as time marched on, it became easier and easier to ignore. It felt so much better to let go then to hold on. He didn't need his old family anymore. He was fine as he was.

Shiny wasn't on his shoulders right now - instead, she was digging around the base of trees, pulling up nuts and seeds to nibble on while her friend grazed. She cast an eye to him every so often, but he was at peace right now. She didn't need to worry. Huckle-friend was healing.
