It bit at the appendage, tears pricking at its eyes and ears back, pushing blood out and forcing itself into risky unconsciousness. The sensation stung for a moment, but amniotic fluid overtook its form in peaceful bliss. With the formation of its chrysalis, it finally felt clear and clean.
